If I was at Everton and they got a silly money bid for Barkley i'd take it. The one they need to keep is Stones, he looks a class above the other young defenders in England and they can build their team around him for the next 10 years.

Can also finance their summer spending as they bound to be skint again.

how much of that is down to Everton being dogwank this season though?
Probably some, but how much of Everton being dogwank is down to Barkley playing 10 in most games and almost never scoring or setting up any goals?

You overrate our midfielders or underrate Milner. He walks into our midfield IMO.
Lets say you sign a good holding midfielder. Is Milner significantly better than Henderson or Allen? What if you count Coutinho in midfield and say there's one space for Henderson, Allen and Milner in a 4-3-3. Does he walk into that?

Key part in bold. Is a crucial, number one priority for us this transfer window, and therefore it will not happen, and your point is moot.

Yes, I'd take Milner over both Allen and Henderson. I think people forget how good Milner was as a CM. For me he has a comparable engine to Henderson but with a better nous for the passing game. I don't think it'll harm us any to have both of them on the same pitch. Allen's a squad player at best with only glimpses of being able to provide something more.

Coutinho is a different kind of beast but if he plays midfield I'd still rather a Coutinho-Milner duo with Lucas/Can behind them. I like Henderson, but for all his fancy stats he goes missing when the team needs something to happen. Not that he doesn't try, but that he lacks the consistency/quality enough for me to pencil him as a certain starter for a team that has top 4 ambitions. I think that's why most fans have trouble with him possibly being the captain as well. Henderson's a great side-kick, but not sold on him as a leader. He could kick on next season, but I like having Milner anyway.

I think Henderson is better than Milner. Milner's famed engine won't last much longer and he hasn't played CM in years.

Also he never tries to break the line and Henderson does it all the time.

I thought Ikki loved Henderson?
I'm only really biased about one player and that will always be Gerrard. I love most of the team but I think half of them need replacing if we're to push on and the other half are great talents at this stage.

Yeh but I think it's good for the next couple years so I'm happy with that. Henderson will be the future and he does move better without the ball but Milner runs better with it.
