Real talk, can we just admit it now?

John Cena is the ****ing man.

At this point, he's been amazing for years on end, and even the most jaded of his haters have to acknowledge that he's been the best thing the E's got going ever since WM. I seriously, seriously hope he never turns heel, continues to perform like a total champ, and wins the fans over completely before riding off into the sunset with a hero's farewell. That would make for an amazing career and character arc—subtle as a brick, sure, but a guy sticking to his beliefs through thick, thin, and vicious hatred from half of the company's fans, only to be vindicated and rewarded in the end (and that'd be completely real, mind you, because you can't script fan reactions no matter how hard you try) would be the kinda thing you can't find anywhere else, and the kinda thing nobody else could replicate. I'd consider it a real privilege to have seen a story like that unfold.

I don't think you'd find many people in this thread who would disagree tbh. I think it's only some of the most ardent IWC who really continue to pedal the hate against him. One gets the feeling that members of the live crowds boo him to look cool a lot of the time, and a lot of the time he manages to win a fair portion of them over before the night is out.

Bloke's incredible though. Works insanely hard, has good matches with pretty much everyone, and obviously is extremely passionate about what he does. And that's before you get on to all of the Make a Wish stuff he does (read an article the other day about how he did a 300 mile round trip on his day off just to go and visit a kid in some nearby state recently). Really don't see what there is to dislike at all about the guy.

Anyway, good show on the whole last night I thought. Ryback is not a bad choice for the new IC champion imo. If they have genuine plans for him it's about time they gave him something meaningful to do, and him winning is far preferable to them giving the title back to Sheamus or something. Surprised they went with another Ambrose stealing the belt angle in the mainevent, given there was loads of that with the IC title around WM and it all got a bit tedious. I imagine he'll now keep hold of the title as an unofficial champion until the next PPV, where there will be a rematch and he'll drop it.

Loved Cena v Owens. The way they have introduced Owens has been incredible. Can't remember the last time they handled a guy's introduction so well, and made him look so immediately strong and badass. Really keen to see how his feud with Cena now plays out. I guess it's leading to a blow off match at Summerslam, with another match at the next PPV, whatever that is, in between.

well the tag team was a tad disappointing. seemed really slow and meh-ish. Was stupid to have Kidd/Ces taken out before prime time players. and JBL is annoying me with his rugby and football references
