Bit of a stretch to say either of those guys are veterans though.

In any case, whilst I wouldn't have a problem with some main roster guys appearing in NXT sparingly, there'd be no point whatsoever in shifting a load of guys down there to work extended programs. The whole point of it being "developmental" is to give new guys a chance. It's not meant to be like WWE's reject division. Can you imagine how sucky it would be if when Kevin Owens get called up to the main roster his spot as the main heel on NXT is filled by...Mark Henry? Don't get me wrong, I quite like Mark Henry, but I would have no interest in seeing this whatsoever.

And the suggestion that NXT needs to have its quality "raised" is odd tstl.

You do realise how long Tyson Kidd has been in wwe right? It's over 6 years. 10 years if you count developmental. He's been there a decade and the guy only got visibility once he started having kick ass matches in NXT in 2013. Obviously we don't need washed up guys like Henry or Kane show up but rather guys who've been in wwe for a while and who's careers have stalled. Instead of just keeping them to do ****ing catering or outright cutting them, why not recognize that some of them are talented but probably are missing something and give them a chance to work matches and cut TV promos on NXT. It gives them another chance.

Also dont see why sending Zack Ryder or Sandow to NXT is so against what NXT is about. It's developmental... Shouldn't that be the place for you to learn stuff away from the more intense spotlight of the main roster and work on your skills? Makes sense to me.

Kidd has not been with WWE for 10 years, including all of his time in developmental. And to suggest he only began to get exposure after his run in NXT in 2013 is false as well. In any case, when I said "either of those guys" I was referring to Ryder and Sandow.

And yeah I see the point you are making, but there comes a point where enough is enough, and no amount of developmental will help a guy get to the next level. It's like the county cricket/international cricket argument. If a guy can't cut it in the big time despite comprehensively demonstrating he can boss it lower down the ladder, sending him back down the rungs will achieve nothing 99 times out of 100.

Suffice to say I dwta. Especially about Kidd. His whole ****y persona was refined in NXT... did him a ****load of good being there.

Each to their own, but from what I can see he's barely any different than he was a few years back. He's changed his character a bit, but as a standalone guy the crowds are just as disinterested him now as they were back then. The whole tension/breakup with Nattie angle was basically nixed because nobody gave a **** about it, and why would they?

The difference between the Kidd of present and the Kidd of a few years ago is the fact that he's found a partner who he really clicks with and as a duo they've managed to get themselves really over. I don't think it'd be accurate to accredit this development to his time in developmental. I'd predict that once his run with Cesaro is over it'll be back to the norm.

Edit: This is not to say I think he's a bad worker. He's not.

Tbh though it it worked, I can at least see the logic in moving guys if you think it would improve them and help them get over. Moving people to improve the NXT brand though...no

In a similar vein, I'm actually really interested to see how the next bunch of NXT intake do. Uhaa Nation in particular.

So Owens has signed a main roster deal but will be on NXT for the next few months too in addition to raw..? WWE must be hoping he doesn't hurt himself cause he's got a lot of things going on. sami was supposed to going over (instead of owens? along with owens?) but he's out for months with the shoulder

so the card for tomorrow is

Neville-Bo Dallas (why?)
Cena-Owens (Billed as champion v champion but i have no idea if the US title is on line)
Paige-Some Bella-Namoi (fatal 3 way for divas championship)
the new day - cesaro and kidd - lucha dragons - los matadores - the ascension - the prime time players (elimination chamber tag team match)
rollins - ambrose

It's not really a planned ppv though. They've put it together as sort of an extra so it's unfair to be critical of the build.

Really looking forward to Owens vs Cena, even though I'm confident it won't have a clean finish either way.

No, fair, and tbh the past few weeks of TV have been good, it's just hard to get too excited I guess

Yeah, the whole thing strikes me as a glorified televised house show really. Not complaining, I'm actually anticipating it to be good, it just kind of lacks a proper PPV feel.

Ok, so brief predictions for tonight:

Elimination chamber tag team match - New Day to retain. Hope my prediction is right, heel New Day are great. With the amount of fairly diverse talent in there, this ought to be a good watch.

Elimination chamber IC title match - Would have said Rusev if he was fit, but...that seems up in the air at the moment. Wouldn't be surprised to see him replaced by Wyatt, who I could see winning the whole thing. If not, Sheamus.

Divas match - Paige, hopefully. But anyone but Nikki.

Neville vs Dallas - I really hope Neville wins this, and expect that he will. Jobbing to a guy who has been treated like a joke for as long as he's been on the main roster would be no good. Then again, could see this just being a build up for another match at whatever the next real PPV is.

Owens vs Cena - Actually think this is tough to call. Owens being called up to the main roster full-time is huge and changes the dynamic of this match big-time. The fact that it's also a non-title match makes it more interesting. I'm going to be foolish and go with Owens for the upset. Or at the very least Owens ending the night looking strong after laying Cena out post match.

Ambrose v Rollins - Rollins to retain. Probably through shenanigans.
