Hands drags the head across, once the head goes it's hard to realign yourself to hit the ball straight down the wicket.

I wonder if that was a reaction to getting caught behind a lot - it's what happened to me, I used to nick out to the keeper a lot and ended up really focusing on trying to get across to the line of the ball outside off stump. Problem was that caused me to do what Taylor's now doing, getting outside off before the ball's bowled and I now get out lbw more than any other way.

Problem with that theory is that I don't have any particular memory of Taylor consistently getting caught behind.
