So? Being the top run scorer for the country who's probably played the most Tests is not something to be sniffed at. Just because he doesn't 'excite' doesn't make his achievements unworthy.
i reckon they've let it be because tbh, he was 200 odd runs away and hasn't been in great nick lately. were probably being patient.

Well I said that about him being 200 away in a different post

Which is why some people get awards for attendance.

He should be your test match opener, yes, but he ain't a captains spit-bucket. Today's lack of a declaration proves that.

Stop crying because England aren't going to let you get back into the game like McCullum and his bowlers did on day one.

England 2.8
Draw 1.6
NZ 36.00

hmm
Haha ya I put a small amount on that NZ one 5 minutes back.

...I already have a big amount for 2-0 series win for NZ - if I didn't put a small amount on this test now, and they go on to win this one and draw Headingley I would've ended up being very unhappy.

Er we were clearly talking purely about his run scoring so his captaincy is irrelevant. But his lack of a declaration proves nothing. What drivel. We got bowled out with 345 on the board. Plenty of ex-players doing the rounds last night saying to set 350. But I guess you weren't invested in a lower declaration at all 8-)

zinzan chill you're all over the place. between the lemons and the knee jerk on southee because he's had a bad game you're getting excessive.

when we wake up in the morning half the english side will be injured because we're back in 1998 and cook will be embroiled in chapter #35464 of the KP saga*

*we also may or may not have lost, but can't have everything

I support Cook's lack of declaration today. This is the first test of a 2-match series. If they lose this one, they can't win the series.

350 in how many overs on the day 5 of a test match? Holy ***

320 in 80 overs would have been plenty.

Let's just see what those 'ex-players' have to say if NZ hang on to being 8-9 down.
