IPL 2015 Thread

Wtf what match were you watching? Yadav bowled a superb over at the end. What's he supposed to do about an edge which flies to third man? Was pretty unlucky.
That was a length ball that he edged. Its still a **** ball. ANd he got hit for 4 the previous ball too. If that is your definition of superb than you've got a low bar.

And he got hit for 18 off his first over ffs

First over was piss. But you're being way too simplistic when you say "It went for four so it was **** bowling". The first four was just a damn good shot... was a difficult to hit low full toss but he managed to scoop it over fine leg. The last ball was plain bad luck.

Leave the nostrils alone.

Johnson's been complete rubbish this IPL. His economy rates for all the matches so far -

15* (today after 2 overs)
9.75
10
8.25
10.69
10.5
5.75
8.5

He looks ridiculous strutting around the field in his glasses. Looks like an office worker who's wandered into the changing rooms by mistake and no-one's cottoned on that he's not actually a cricketer.

A length ball that gets edged for 4 is just as **** a ball as a length ball that gets smacked in the middle of the bat for 4.

Now Mumbai right now, this is good death bowling.

Would have seemed ludicrous that a team with Maxwell and Miller has been the worst batting side this IPL when the whole thing started.

Length balls aren't bad balls at the death by default though. Lots of bowlers do it to get a bit of deviation off the pitch to beat the bat with a fuller delivery wouldn't do. Wahab intentionally bowls length and short of length deliveries at pace with exactly that in mind.

Surely you agree if you bowl a length ball outside off stump with the batsman swinging hard because they need 12 rpo, you're not unlucky if it flies off the edge through the slips for 4?

Love Sehwag, but man he is so finished now. :sadangel::sadwalk:
But why is he in the side as an opener? He doesn't even open for his state side anymore, he is ageing, his reflexes are slow, but he can be effective in the middle/lower middle order when the spinners are on and the ball isn't doing much for the pacers.

Delhi Daredevils dropped Tahir for this game. Who the **** manages these teams? If they left team selection as a poll on CW, we'd do a much better job.

Yeah this might be true. The immediate issue I have with the idea of Sehwag batting in the middle in OD cricket is that he's not great at rotating the strike, but that is less important in T20 than it is in 50 over cricket. Might be worth a go.

Maybe against the quicks, but he's great at working the ball into gaps against the spinners. Took the mickey against Murali.
