*Official* English Football Season 2014-15

So Exeter City let down Gimp, he now knows how I feel most Saturdays.

It's tough though, as I say wouldn't wish that division on anyone, but my opinion is jaundiced through having 5 hellishly depressing years down there, might be fun to have one promotion season. Like FJ's lot did.

I don't get why people think it has anything to do with him. The girl isn't his current girlfriend.
Some top-class editing from newspaper lawyers over this story. Daily Mail: "Rumours circulated on Twitter that the footballer filmed the sickening video involving a woman on a bed."

Speaking of sickening, dire stuff about Tranmere, hopefully they get out ASAP.

One has to feel for the boy.

As grecian says, a long spell in the Conference is pretty soul destroying. The U's spent the best part of a decade stuck there so hope Tranmere get back up at the first time of asking.

Feel sorry for Sherwood and Villa. Most unjust.
I wonder if Aston Villa will write to the FA seeking an explanation or if they'll react the way every club who doesn't have a persecution complex would, accept that the officials made a mistake and get on with things.

Often with calls like that linesman have to go with gut instinct as much as their eyes. As Benteke gets himself unnecessarily offside so often the linesman probably used a little guess work.

Or attack.

Everton just doing what every other team does against us, let us have the ball as much as we want 30 yards from goal, as we can't break down a defence, then hit our defence on the break. It's all very well trying to play like Barcelona, but when you don't have Messi and Neymar to pick a defence apart it doesn't really work....

The 3rd goal today was just plain shocking. Honestly not getting this Valencia at RB. He can't defend, but fair enough the way we play he spends most of his time on the attack. However he still can't attack. He's the winger who hasn't beaten a man in 3 years ffs.

Meanwhile Young on the other side has been getting lauded, because for the last few months he's remembered he has a left foot too, but once again he's put it back in storage and gone back to exclusively using his right and trying to cut back every time he gets down the left. Coleman read him like a book today.

Also De Gea looked very suspect on the 3rd goal (how much room at the near post), last few weeks his mind looks like its elsewhere, and no prizes for guessing where. Got a feeling we'll be seeing Valdes next year.

On the plus side, I really think the last few weeks have been the making of Smalling.

..........and also added the inability to attack.

PFA Team of the Year

De Gea

Bertrand Cahill Terry Ivanovic

Matic

Hazard Coutinho Sanchez

Kane Costa
Can't argue with much of that, Fonte robbed by Cahill and Azpilicueta by Bertrand, but that's maybe just the Englishness coming through.

Fellaini should be the key against those deep defences, didn't really use him today then subbed him off before he got a red card.

It's all about Carrick, ridiculous how reliant we are on him, Blind is nowhere near as good in that role. Valencia was ****e today but has done a decent enough job there over the season, need to sign a real RB this summer because LVG clearly has no time for Rafael.

How today's game will go:

1. Arsenal will start much the better side and dominate the first 20 minutes.
2. Chelsea will score an easily preventable goal the first time they venture anywhere near Arsenal's box
3. Chelsea will then proceed to stick everyone behind the ball and spoil **** out of the game. Arsenal will have about 98% possession in the second half and Cahill and Terry will block 14 shots each.
4. Chelsea will stick in a late 2nd on the counter attack.

I must say this kind of "they're going to park the bus" thing from Arsenal fans is all very confident and makes me anxious. They did put six past us only 13 months ago.

One of my least fave refereeing thing, the stiff talking too, without a booking. Just all about the ref trying to be centre of attention, whilst doing nowt concrete. Players secretly laugh at that, I'm certain.

I don't understand how keepers are allowed to get away with stuff like that. Not that I'm complaining on this occasion.
