Return to a 1992 type format IMO which should be possible with the next edition being only 10 teams.
It's possible, but it won't happen. The next WC is set to be longer than this one iirc. In part, I assume, because with no different time zones, days with two games will be in direct competition with each other, which I assume the ICC/TV companies don't want. So that sucks.

Not Terrible
Nah you just dont remember the matches then. England played a combination of awful and amazing cricket and produced thrillers in virtually every group match they played.

The Eng v India tie, The KOB match vs Ireland, Eng vs SA which was one of the most hilarious low scoring matches ever and Eng vs West Indies were all in-****ing-credible.
Yeah nah. I remember. They were decent, fun and/or terrible matches. But no way do they make the 2011 WC better than this one.

England don't tend to do a lot of day night games in June, because it doesn't really get properly dark until about 9pm. But you could theoretically play ones that start pretty late. Maybe 5 or so hours after the first one.

Where are all the other NZ posters? Am I the only one left? What happened to Zinzan, Hendrix, RossTaylorsBox and co?

Mate they were all thrillers that went down to the wire and had some amazing(and terrible) batting and bowling. WHat more could you ask for from an ODI WC?

Alan Border: McCullum's saved about as many run as he's scored.

I hope he was talking about BMac's contributions to date and not just his innings today!

A great sign of how much I've enjoyed this World Cup is the fact that I'm sad that it's ending now. Rather than being too long, I've not grown tired of it yet at all.

Value is subjective and all so if others have enjoyed 2011 or 2007 more then there's nothing wrong with that, but to say that only a couple of the matches here have been close/entertaining/memorable is just flat out wrong.
