it's going to be awkward when the candy cannon hits twatto out of the MCG

i agree with them on one thing - aussie are slight favourites using your brain

we're going to win though.

not sure if you're being deliberately obtuse here or
i'm going for my charge shots over cover

we're not going to struggle to find 20 overs of bowling. henry is a world class talent. it's candy/elliott/kane that could go for big runs.

Two tournaments in a row host countries have met in the final. All set up for England in 2019... not.
England are the sole hosts for the 2019 tournament, and that is only the second greatest reason why there won't be a host vs host match up.

Should be a cracker. I was tipping NZ to win before the India-Australia game, but the Australian bowlers are bowling in really good rhythm, so I don't know now. I am really looking forward to this game.

so many good match ups in this. warner v baz, the puppy v kane, ross v m clock, batswell v candy cannon, the main three quicks on each side v each other...

head says australia by 1 wicket or less than 20 runs. heart says nz by 10 wickets.

i would really dispute the ranking of mcclenaghan as world class
no doubt he's bowled poorly for most of the home summer and his method goes against conventional wisdom (that being only moderately accurate 135kph banged in stuff gets smashed) but he didn't fluke those wickets he's got. he produces wicket balls and has for a while now. he'd waltz into an embarrassing number of odi sides. that's an advantage of both sides bench strength - they've got two top four bowling attacks each.

I'm sure Australia will play their brand of aggressive cricket, will play the game hard and will engage in their perfected form of mental disintegration and which is totally a part of the game, but will have a beer with the kiwis in the evening, as it should be. However, NZ are a team of hard working cricketers , none of whom can be called superstars but who punch above their weight as a team and are greater than the sum of their average parts because of their heart and commitment. It will be interesting to see whether they manage to adapt going from Eden Park where Guptill's grandma could hit sixes to the MCG which is as big as the Sahara. In the end they've both had world cups they can be proud of, and the team which loses can still be satisfied with their excellent campaign.

Forgot to mention that the MCG is as big as the Sahara.
