***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2014/15

Yeah I recall John Wright had plans for Lonsdale. Then obviously Boult and the more hostile vibe of agribusiness took the helm, and that was pretty much curtains to the ambitions of any decorous little Lonsdales and Sam Wells types representing New Zealand. Lonsdale's taken 6 wickets @ 57 in his six two-dayers for Marist-Harewood this season, so you can lock in Nuttall and McCone down there for the foreseeable future.

Re: Duffy. I've been impressed with his economy in particular. Still a couple of seasons away but he'll probably dominate next season and then perhaps make the squad in a couple of years.
Would be a rare Black Cap who spent his formative years in Invers. Prior to him Jeff Wilson and before that, Brian McKechnie perhaps?

Alabaster before them? Very few Southlanders have played test cricket full stop.

Bracewell not playing Plunket sheild this week. Hope the rumours about him replacing Milne are untrue..

So we've hired Dimitri Mascarenhas as the bowling coach for England.

I was instinctively dubious since he's a T20 specialist allrounder but then that doesn't mean he's a bad coach and he is head coach of Otago. Everything McHesson do seems to work so I trust this is a good move.

Wish we could get Damien Wright back. Now that we have a good crop of bowlers there shouldn't be any shortage of coaches wanting to work with them.

Damien Wright seemed to do a particularly good job getting Southee back to his best. I guess Mascarenhas also has local knowledge and must have made a good impression with Otago. People were saying earlier in the thread Duffy seems to have improved this season?

Neither D Bracewell nor Wagner playing this round. Assume Wagner told to rest as well.

Astle will now cruise in as top wicket taker.

Also, no Craig again this round. Neesham hasn't been seen for ages.

Also Bennett not seen since Plunket Shield re-started.

Looks like a tough pitch for Tastle tbh. No obvious footmarks and slow.

Nuttall should be signed by one of the really budget-conscious Div 2 counties, but unfortunately they never really have their finger on the pulse like that. Probably prefer to sign Franklin, or Butler.
