Yeah, this is the thing. Andy Townsend crowing about how well Arsenal have done is a pretty crap consolation in truth. Yes, they did play well tonight, and given the circumstances can probably take some pride in that performance. But in reality, they have come up short on the big stage again, but for once they've not even gone out to a team that's significantly better than they are. Over two legs they have completely stacked it against a team that are totally inferior oppo. Disappointing.
Anyway, at least they didn't finish the tie in a particularly horrible fashion. Morale should at least still be high heading in to the last rounds of the domestic season.
