If India was a good team, I would say that it's nice tthat they have got the loss out of the way.

Man Dhoni brings in so much calm when batting, with the likes of Raina and Rahane they look like they're under pressure to score.

The fact that we're no longer a good team now amuses me.

Also, the notion that "it's good" that India are batting badly in a meaningless game because that somehow means it'll never happen again in the tournament is hilarious. It doesn't apply to bad teams, it doesn't apply to good teams, it's just silly.

Why commentators always mention when two players have played together in IPL? Why is that a sufficient indicator of good understanding?

Have never thought this Indian team to be strong. It is not like I am saying this after this performance. Have said only 4-5 days back we have no chance of winning this world cup. Our batting has too many holes with Raina being Raina, Rahane not being tight enough.

If you have not heard about getting the loss out of the way it is not my problem. I haven't said whether we will collapse again or not.

i'm surprised india have the highest win percentage in world cups

the position of england though, lol.
They were showing all icc events since 2011. I suppose that includes 2011 and 2015 world cups, last 2 world T20s and the champions trophy.

Yeah that's right, we lost against SA 2011, AUS 2012 and SL (sadly) 2014. A tie against England 2011 and won everything else.

This is confusing me. If you believe in the concept of "getting the loss out of the way" then that essentially means you believe we won't play like this again in the tournament.... right?

If a team is very good, being tested helps. That is no guarantee it won't happen again. Also India isn't very good according to me, as I mentioned in the same sentence.

I believe in the "getting a loss out of the way" concept to an extent. Complacency is natural and gets to everyone, even professionals. A loss once in a while keeps your focused and reminded that losing is a possibility if you don't treat every team with the same respect and every game with the same focus. It's better to get a kick up the butt in a game which doesn't matter.

It's a really weird, weird logic that makes no sense whatsoever, along with "he's due a failure after back-to-back tons" or "Brendon McCullum has to win this toss, he's lost the last 623 in a row!"
