If only his arm/shoulder injuries didn't stop him from bowling towards the second half of his career, 200 ODI wickets were but a formality imo, could have got 100 test wkts too if he tried hard enough.

So weird how England was actually looking like a decent side in the tri series with Anderson bowling really well and India getting destroyed. Now they're out and India has 5 consecutive wins. Maybe it's not just Tests where England look a much, much better outfit with a firing Anderson.

It's a lot to do with the pitches as well, England played India at Brisbane which was a bowl first pitch, and then at Perth which obviously had extra bounce. England still lost all 3 games to Australia which gives more credence to India just being crap/not trying (they admitted to it recently) than England having improved significantly.

It was incredibly obvious that India's intensity was down. They were fatigued from the test series and knew they had another 2-3 more months in Australia.
Having said that, Eng played okay vs. Australia despite losing 3 games. They were likely never going to go far in the WC with their team, but not making the quarters only became obvious after the NZ game where they just looked mediocre as ****.

You're in for a treat. And it's not just about the cult heroism.
The Afghanis are exceptional to watch. There is genuine hostility and quality in their bowling and it's one of those things you don't really pick up on TV.
- The wicket keeper's fluidity behind the stumps
- Shapoor's run-up
- Dawlat's beautiful transfer of energy through the crease
- Hamid's pace and in swing.
I know that I'm a big fan boy but it is genuinely high class stuff and is entertaining in and of itself.
I'd watch them bowl to unguarded stumps tbh.
