I'm reluctant to even say who I think would be the best chap to come back and lead this England one-day side...

I mean he's more mature now & he would more likely translate his natural arrogance into confidence if he was skipper.

I could just see him building real self-belief in the squad, particularly in a tournament.
I think Ravi's ship has sailed

Only 18 runs and a wicket in the Batting PP so far.

Also no extras this whole innings.

BD beasting this.

Thinking back to our team selection for this WC, after dropping Cook and going with Moeen at the top, and risking some of the younger/less experienced types like Taylor, Woakes, Hales and that, weren't we meant to just 'go out and have a go and hope for the best and all'. I don't know exactly what I'm trying to say but wasn't the whole hope that we could be a bit less fearful going in with lower expectations and a fresher team? It's not happened in the slightest tiniest bit, just the same old, same old.

Edit: I guess our senior players (bowlers in particular) just being pure ****e has a lot to do with this.

That's the thing though. How do you bat without fear when you're coming into such a big tournament with so little experience? All that should have been done 3 years ago, not on the eve of the tournament.
