FTR, my opinion on the whole thing hasn't really changed since it happened, I just get a bit more tedious and pissed off when discussing it these days because I'm annoyed it's still so relevant. Part of me actually wishes the ECB would tell KP he can come back, because quite frankly I'm not sure that would actually benefit him.

Anderson's never struck me as having a massive ego. Swann, Prior and Broad all strike me as sports jacket wearing jocks who think they're the best thing since sliced bread if we're casting them in an American teen high school movie, whereas Jimmeh would be the black leather coat wearing grumpy as **** goth muttering to himself in the corner.

I was a fan of the bloke until around 09/10. A fan of the cricketer still.

If you read my posts from sacking over the subsequent twelve months, I gradually evolved my view on the saga. if you think KP's conduct since his axing has been the same as when he was part of the team, you're either basing your opinion around a self-fulfilling prophecy or dumb as ****. Probably both, given it's you.

Only one cricketer I am and ever will be a fanboy for though and you know that. Your usual poor line where you think calling someone a fanboy wins you the argument because you're dire like that.

Others in the setup liked KP too. Mainly young players. I have acknowledged this plenty of times, yet you like to think you've point scored by bringing up one solitary player. The core players in the side who were there every week? Heh, not so much. And that's clearly what i was getting at but you cling to your bowler who's played 6% of the Tests in that time. Clearly got a better insight than Anderson who's played about 90% of them. You just happen to dislike him and that's nothing to do with you finding his stance invalid at all. Pretty sure he'd have never recalled him either.

The captaincy basically landed on KP by default due to the circumstances of summer 2008. Under normal circumstances I don't think the board would have gone near him.

I've always thought, depending on how sharp he is tactically, that he'd make the perfect vice captain though.

Apart from the fact that he'd be second guessing the actual captain all the time and just generally being a dick. It'd be a Tony Blair/Gordon Brown situation. Only KP isn't quite as dire as those two.
