I've just found a CW member called "DDP" and his avatar is Page. Yes! Yes! Yes!

I hope he finds this thread.

I reckon we should just leave it to him to find the thread because there's been enough posts in it recently that he's bound to see it eventually in the "most recent post" section of the General Sports Forum on the index. Would be so cool if he finds it or whatever.

Okay so I love that Piper got the win

i hate that they hadn't mentioned it was non-title. Dusty is going "we have a new champion...or do we I'm not so sure," Piper walks off and the show ends win Hogan celebrating with the belt. The biggest show of the year and it's headlined by a non title match. Get ****ed.
Meh, he beat Hogan clean. First time that happened since Warrior at WM 6. Amazing to think about that.

Can't remember why it wasn't for the title, but the commentators sucked in explaining I agree.

There is just no way the nWo were old in December 96. They were dominating TV. Savage hadn't even joined them yet, which was awesome when he did, turning on Piper. They had another 12 months before they got stale I reckon.

I agree the Hogan loss was cool. Just messy the way it was handled. Be clearer about it being non title beforehand or whatever

My dislike for Hogan (probably trumps yours for HHH) clouds my feelings on the nWo, nonetheless I've watched each PPV since their formation over the past few weeks and it's all been very samey. But there's no doubt that knowing it would continue forever and even be brought back by Vince probably adds a cloud to it.

Add Naitch to those two and I hate them all.

Yeah clearly the nWo aren't going to be awesome every PPV in hindsight, but at the time that **** was fresh, and until they had every second bloke in the nWo it was just good TV. Nash and Hall were the ****, Hogan's spray painted belt as well

Think he's the most overrated wrestler of all time.
I read through bits of the old wrestling thread the other day and saw us discussing this before. So I don't feel the need to argue it again; but man I don't think you could be more wrong.

Giant turning heel then face in six months, setting the stall for the next 20 years of his career

I'm too stoned to type a lengthy response but if I ever go to (and get out of) rehab I'll indulge.

duffer you will love this - check out solomonster discuss whether Chyna should be in the Hall of Fame but just spending 5 minutes spraying the **** out of Triple H

Theres a great bit in his most recent podcast where he responds to HHH's claim that he was one of the prime reasons wwe killed wcw. He basically just laughed for a whole minute and completely trashed him.

Also laid into him for hhh's claim that him coming out of retirement to beat Punk ( at a time when Punk was the hottest wrestler on the planet) was 'to get cm punk over' ...somehow.

Haha.

I really enjoyed Trips from 97-2002, but there's no doubt he absolutely stunk as a face in 2002 and they took the title off him quicker than anything. And then he just ruined Raw for a year.
