Rahane's one of the few consistently good fielders in your lineup though, the rest have flashes of brilliance but nothing consistent. Impressive moments in the field today no doubt but more often that not India aren't very flash at all.

Every dog has his day.
Raina has been India's most consistent fielder since like 6-7 years. Kohli is a little too eager, anyways, the point is that India raise there game (fielding included) during ICC events, all the tournaments we've won/done well in has seen India's fielding standards rise considerably.

In spite of the fact I've never really liked the bloke, Ganguly does provide excellent insights in the commentary box.

The Indian side is a better fielding side than the average Indian side but is still below average relative to the world.
Lol no. NZ, Aus, SA and WI(with Pollard, Bravo) are clearly better than us. We are on par with or better than every other side in the world.

Nah we are okay. It's just that we drop so many catches in the slips that we look way worse than we actually are.

Slip catching is our only really big problem. And that isn't a factor in ODIs.
Well ok mate, you have a different view of things to me and that's fine. I think they stink as a fielding side in general, but fair play they've done some good things this evening

Nah that's rubbish, there is no way you can say that Rahane, Kohli, Jadeja, Rohit and Raina as a unit are not consistently impressive fielders. Dhawan's good too.

You just have this impression because they drop tons of catches in the slips and looked sloppy in the Tests after being out there for 100 overs watching their bowlers get smacked.

Even the ordinary fielders like Yadav, Shami and Mohit run around hard and try hard to stop the ball. And Ashwin is a really good slipper.

They're definitely a better fielding side that West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lana, at the very least.
"Just because we've done bad over a long period in test cricket doesn't mean we have any problems with our fielding"

We field well when it matters most (2011 knockouts, champions trophy, 07 T20 WC). Hopefully we continue that trend =)

What's wrong with him as a bloke?
Probably nothing tbf, just always thought he looked and acted like a spoiled brat...and that was purely from a distance.

The fact I'm struggling to articulate the reason is actually fairly poor on my part. :p
