Captaincy doesnt suit AB imo.SA are really missing a Cronje like figure in their team.
Proteas are missing a Kallis more than anything. The management was so engrossed in admiring Kallis that they were least bothered to groom another all-rounder who seems to be the weak link in this line up.

Too soon the call the result, but so far India have been really, really impressive.

There has been 62 overs of cricket so far, and India have looked the better team for most of it. SA were good with the new ball, good at the death, but that's about it. India has been on top for the rest of the game. A couple of fumbles in the field, a bad runout, one or two soft dismissals...but not much else you can fault them for.

Excellent to see.

Watching Faf and some of the other #3 bats in other teams bat really makes me value Kohli the batsmen so much more, its amazing how good he is at rotating the strike even in tough run chases.

The conversation was actually in response to Virat Kohli's quote about it being difficult to accelerate at the end here because the MCG is a large ground, so they tried to be consistent throughout the innings. If your response to that, as you posted, was to reiterate that it is easier to hit fours and sixes on a smaller ground compared to a larger ground then yes you were correct.
He's right, batsman fatigue more on big grounds because tthey have to run so many of their runs. If you want a big score at the MCG you won't score most of them in the last 15 like you can on smaller grounds.

Classy pull-stroke AB...it's like a tennis serve the way he comes down on it.

SA could easily get 8-9 an over in the last 15 with wickets in hand so no need to panic at all.

Yeah, he's only stepped up when required to anchor innings about a million times.
Don't get me wrong I'm the biggest Amla fan, but considering his record (which is basically the best ever), he seriously needs to deliver in this WC to solidify his ODI legacy.

Solidifying his legacy is completely different to 'doesn't step up when needed.'

This is the lack of consistency with India's bowlers, they will bowl 5 good balls and then a freebie and it ruins everything. Yadav could have easily saved 8 or so runs.
