Yeah.The thing about the bigger grounds is that whenever you check the score, the opposition seems to be way ahead of where you think because they've taken so many twos. It's hard to get a feel for the game so it can get away from you. Bigger grounds might be easier for bowlers -- after all, they could just set their field as if the ground was smaller if they really felt it -- but harder for captains are more infuriating for fielding teams in general.
Nah it's not. Nicks don't actually go for six, pretty frequently they don't even carry to the cordon. An edge through second slip goes for four regardless of the size of the ground. Yes, on a small ground, you get balls carrying for six that would otherwise have been four or caught, but that applies for both teams and typically doesn't change between innings. The thing that really changes between the first and second innings is the urgency of the batting team, and that's the thing that is really highlighted by a big ground.Its easier then defending on small boundaries where nicks go for 6. The modern day finishers are mostly boundary hunters imo.
