I mean N O-brien, Balbirnie and Wilson, all have relatively low SRs, not so much K O-brien and Mooney but wouldn't want them coming in this early.

Just makes it even sadder that Ireland are quite likely to miss out on the next World Cup. They add so much to this tournament every single time.

Just makes me realize how good some of the associates batting is, definitely a level above the likes of Pakistan or bangers

With 9 wickets in hand, 163 runs o the board and 25 overs left you should really chase anything under 350.
True, but you have to factor in that Ireland do these chases occasionally, but not regularly. Still, been a great effort so far by them.

Niall can hit them, it's just that he usually plays a top-order role.

Not sure about Balbirnie tbh.

Niall has a bit of variety in his batting. Can definitely smash it if required. Wilson can turn the strike.

Never seen Balbirnie bat.

That the spirit of cricket is an ambiguous term, but if any team plays with it, it's NZ.
Sammy's "what a c*nt" comment at himself probably doesn't help them in that category.

Nearly ready to bend over, Zinzan. Ireland's playing beautifully.

i was out. what did he say?
Basically that NZ are giving the rest of the cricketing world a lesson in what the 'spirit of cricket' should be all about.

The way they're respectful to opposition teams, the way they applaud their milestones, don't sledge & engage in cheap-stuff, yet are still highly competitive & play positive cricket to win.

I always see Ireland playing well as a bit of a win for dear old county cricket, plenty of decent (very good in Joyce's case) county professionals in their side. Give a rather better reflection on the quality of our domestic game than the England team, as supposedly the very best players the system has to offer do.

I don't think any major team should count out Ireland, WI, Zim. Wouldn't be surprised if two of them jam it through.
