I don't think Ireland has a better ODI attack than India, but I do think you're overstating India's bowling by a large margin tbh. They bowled well against a pretty moderate Pakistan side last night, but they were well beaten up by Australia and England in the recent tri series here. Their batting will almost always keep India in games, but IMO they'll give up 300-320 against other top 5 or 6 sides more often than not in these conditions
his name sounds good in your eeeeaaaarMax Sorensen is a good name.
Indeed. Stirling can do that job can't he?All these dibbly dobblies and loopy doopies take me back to how NZ played in 92. Just need somebody to come out and bat like Mark Greatbatch later.
With the demise of the FTP system, who is going to host Ireland besides England every few years for a bilateral series?I like having a lot of teams involved but I agree with you. Ireland would have a fair chance of making the 10 from the qualifying tournament. As long as there is an open door and a defined path for qualification then I dont have a real issue with a 10 team event.
Except, no one is asking you. But seriously, even the most fanatical of the Indian fans don't rate the bowling. Batting maybe. The bowling can be average, or good or plain bad depending on the day and the pitch. The last time the Indian bowling was any where close to really good was in 1932 when we played our first test series, tbh.hardly a terrible bowling attack if you ask me.
Completely agree. With the demise of the FTP system, who is going to host Ireland besides England every few years for a bilateral series?
I think thats the bigger issue really. A 10 team event would be fine if minnows occasionally got to actually gain experience against the big teams outside of the World Cup event.
I think Ireland / Scotland (and when they requalify Dutch) ODIs should be scheduled for any tour of England. Afghanistan/UAE to play pre-Pakistan and maybe even Indian tours. Would be gun.
See I think this is where people get too caught up in wanting to blast sides out, have a look when we beat Sri Lanka 5-0 often they would be in the game but our bowlers are so good at choking the scoring pushing up that requires run rate and out pressure on them that way! We did it again today, not saying we have the best odi attack far from it, but it's a very useful one IMO.Except, no one is asking you. Yeah. And even on top of that Ireland and Scotland's summers are during most countries off seasons, so there's no reason why sides shouldn't have to play ODI series against them. With the demise of the FTP system, who is going to host Ireland besides England every few years for a bilateral series?

Yeah I remember when him being captain was supposed to be the only thing stopping West Indies from being good again.Good knock this from Sammy.
Is the West Indian Misbah for sure.
The odd thing is there's a few of the Indian bowlers I genuinely like, particularly Nostrils Yadav, but I don't know that he's all that well suited to ODI stuff. I enjoy watching him bowl though. I tend not to rate Shami as highly as some do on here, but again, if they stick with him in longer formats I think he'll end up decent. As the WC is really the only time I give too much of a razz for LO cricket, I tend to talk more about test match bowling. Granted those two were pretty average in the tests just gone here, but they're green and definitely should be persisted with IMO.Except, no one is asking you. For the time they learned to count?West Indies, 123/5 - how cute, providing some nostalgia for the locals in the crowd.
This post takes the cake, for a IREvs WI threadExcept, no one is asking you. But seriously, even the most fanatical of the Indian fans don't rate the bowling. Batting maybe. Ticket sales probably and lack of television coverage.Yeah. And even on top of that Ireland and Scotland's summers are during most countries off seasons, so there's no reason why sides shouldn't have to play ODI series against them.
