Brownlie hammering around Bracewell and co this morning. 15 fours in the first session.
Is an important month for Brownlie. Hopefully selectors will take 2 spare batsmen to England, an opener and Neesham (assuming Anderson will be 1st choice at #6 after a good WC), means we'll be able to drop Rutherford from the playing XI, in the same way Fulton was eased out on the WI tour. I assume Brownlie, Worker and MBracewell (and Guptill?) are in the race for the opener spot. Brownlie making runs against Doug Bracewell helps, even if it is at the normally-batting-friendly Pukekura Park.

Note, I'd prefer the selectors to come to their senses on Rutherford and not pick him for Eng, but don't think it will happen.

I hope Brownlie can pile on the runs and put pressure on Rutherford. He certainly deserves a go at the top.

Yep 222* at the end of the day. CD elected to bowl. Next highest score was 39. Probably a decent innings....

double tons all but guarantee selection. I'm happy with it. Him and Latham is a nice combo.
Yeah Brownlie/Latham is infinitely better than Spud/Latham.

I'd naturally take Guppy too to see if he has any form in the warm ups/ 12th man.

As expected Kane Williamson has chucked his name into the hat for the IPL, first time ever I believe. Got a feeling Mumbai will pick him up, like for like replacement with Michael Hussey.

Yeah what a crock of ****, I've been all over Welly today and didn't see a spot of rain.. Pretty sure it only rained on Friday night? Even my flatmates 2B side had a full game no worries yesterday.
