In explaining why Andy Murray couldn't match Novak Djokovic, consider not only his "distracted" state of mind, but this astonishing fact: That both Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova averaged significant faster second serves in their final than Murray did in the men's denouement.

Andy Murray's second serve: slower than Serena Williams', and a problem
I generally take these stats with a pinch of salt, likes the Madison Keys hits her groundies harder than the men. In the end, placement, spin, slice all can make a great shot as well as pace, sometimes reigning yourself in can be a good thing.

But the differential there is pretty huge. It's not like Serena's isn't pretty accurate too.

Longest match in Fed Cup history involving an Aussie I am hearing.
I loved it as I didn't particularly care who won, they're both pretty cool women.

Mind you I think Germany having Georges taking her track-suit top of probably affected Sam

Making no insinuation whatsoever obviously....

Interesting Mr. Vimes, farcical ending to that tournament, but some real high octane drama before that from Petko and BZS.

Anyone think the Muguruza-Pliskova match, in Dubai, is the sign of the new order coming through, hard-hitting clean striking from 2 physically imposing players.

Federer is so annoyingly brilliant and an all-court genius compared to the base-line grinding idjits like Nole, Andy and Rafa.
Slight correction, oh and Safarova is lovely, I'd even go so far to say I Love Lucie, but I fear it may be a tad cliched, and badly splett. She's got a great game.
