I agree, I think if anything it shows how weak most ODI sides are at the moment, . I would go as far and say it is one of the weakest Australian teams I have seen. I am surprised they haven't been bundled out for 150 regularly. I know averages don't always tell the true picture but how many of them average over 40 in ODI cricket? Some pretty good bowlers though but no Warne or McGrath or anyone you dread that comes on to bowl.I don't think Australia are half as good as everyone assumes. They don't worry me. SA are the team to beat.
Must be something other than fluoride in the water in the Waikato, I reckon. So where all them Boult haters now? No doubt booked himself a place in the World Cup playing XI.
Yup, and the other thing is there's no glaring weakness & they bat deeper than any other side. I mean FFS, the other night they had Faulkner batting @ 8 & Johnson @ 9.Clarke, Bailey and Smith have really good career/last two years records.
Add Johnson and Starc and it's easy to see why they're one of the best sides.
As I just mentioned, they have ridiculous batting depth. I mean I wouldn't trade Anderson & Ronchi at 6 & 7 with anyone at the moment, but they more solid batting from 1 through 11 IMO. Even if they don't have anyone quite as consistent as Williamson atm.Clarke isn't going to make it through the world cup. Might not even make it to the world cup.
Our batting is currently better than Australias. Our bowling is close.
Johnson isn't that great a limited overs bat. Certainly useful but I wouldn't go as far as saying as they have a better lower order than NZ.Yup, and the other thing is there's no glaring weakness & they bat deeper than any other side. Not sure our batting is better, it's probably a photo finish. If you're talking full batting cards, their 8-10 absolutely ****s all over ours. Then the likes of Warner, Smith, Watson match up pretty well to Williamson, McCullum and Taylor, and you'd argue Finch, Clarke/Bailey, Marsh, Faulkner & Maxwell is at least equal to Gup, Elliott, Anderson, Ronchi. So I'm not sure you can split em.Clarke isn't going to make it through the world cup. Might not even make it to the world cup.

It's ODI cricket. If two teams both bat to 10 but one side has a decently better 8-10 but inferior 6-7... you should still take the one with the better 6-7.Not sure our batting is better, it's probably a photo finish. Their bowling is a little bit more potent. At the moment, they're a slightly better side but I think ours is a unit that can definitely beat them.
And how I will enjoy living over here when/if it happens. The typical XXXX-drinking yobbo that loves Warner's garbage over here doesn't know a thing about us. It's a mini America where they only know of things that happen inside their border.
Okay, officially derailing this thread now, but if Aust roll out a side like;Johnson isn't that great a limited overs bat. Certainly useful but I wouldn't go as far as saying as they have a better lower order than NZ.
Mate, we are talking ODIs right and not Test cricket?nah.
Bailey is basically a hack.
Smith is good, as is Watson if he gets going.
You do when it's relatively even from 1-7.You never take 8-11 in isolation though.
Bailey has had a fairly large opportunity to bash India around on flat tracks though.Mate, we are talking ODIs right and not Test cricket?
A hack doesn't average 41 with a SR of 86 over 50 games, regardless of how much you want to label him as that. He may not look all that flash against a really good brisk bouncer, but neither does Raina, and nobody would question his short-form credentials.
