Lions look set for a big score. Roy doing himself no harm in these first two games.

Billings out ill or maybe Pothas has got his wish and he's heading out to Australia.

Good to see Parry did a decent job in the chase after SA A got off to an absolute flier. 2-44 off 9 coming on with the opposition 110-0 after 13 chasing 377 isn't a bad return.

Lions looking set for a big score again. Roy looks to be the main beneficiary so far from this ODI leg. Consistent runs at the top of the order. Stokes doing well here and Vince has done decently throughout the tour but kinda overshadowed by others.

Not excited by much in english cricket but the ODI and T20 batting lineups have the potential to be very exciting in the next 10 years imo. Hard to know who will make it but there are plenty of good options. Likes of Roy, Billings and Stokes have loads of potential. Lees, Hales, Vince, Bairstow will all get opportunities down the line. World cup came a year too early for the likes of Billings and Roy unfortunately.

Yea the context of the match is everything, that's virtually match winning.

Stokes finishes the innings with 4 consecutive sixes off de Lange, 151* off 86 balls. One thing to slaughter innocuous bowlers, but another to take on a guy who'd make most international XIs.

Great work ECB and the selectors.

So many possible combinations

Roy, Ali, Vince, Stokes, Buttler, Morgan, Billings

Hales, Roy, Stokes, Root, Buttler, Billings, Willey

Hales, Roy, Vince, Ballance, Billings, Buttler, Gregory(lol)

Lees, Vince, Taylor, Stokes, Buttler, Morgan, Billings

Roy, Vince, Stokes, Taylor, Buttler, Billings, Ali

Ali, Roy, Vince, Bairstow, Morgan, Buttler, Billings

Lees, Roy, Taylor, Root, Stokes, Buttler, Billings

etc

Of course it will end like this

Hales, Bell, Taylor, Root, Ballance, Morgan, Buttler

and be awful.

ECB didn't handle him brilliantly but there needs to be some personal accountability from Stokes (and tbf he hasn't complained and he seems to have just got on with it) that his performances were rubbish. He did get opportunities up the order and failed. He just isn't consistent enough at the moment as a batsman or a bowler.

Don't be silly, they'll never drop golden boy Sadsack Bopara. I mean he just pushed his best Oceania ODI score up to 33 with his scintillating knock the other night. He's in form people, give him about 25-30 overs and he might even get up to a half century, or about 5 overs with the ball.

You're right. I completely forgot about him for a moment.

They drew his batting and bowling position out of a hat, had him miss random games. There was no point picking him if they were going to mess him about like that. He does not have the brains or the experience to be shunted around like that and handle it properly. Yes he didn't perform, but he was never going to in that situation.
