I guess I'm slightly weird because I can't really watch full length sport as a neutral or if I know the result. Pretty much all my interest comes from the contest between the two opponents, so I only really get into it if I have a stake in it, rather than watching it for aesthetic value. I also disagree that it's just a match of sluggers, but I've never really seen anything different so maybe it used to be much better.

Lollin at some of the posts on other forums by Brits who are salty about Murray. You're not producing one as good for a long time, he deserves better.

Well you don't have to go back too long, Fed-Nadal played one of the greatest finals I've seen, all about the contrast in styles for me. The top 3 are just too sinilar IMHO.

Hey, I'm already on the Katie Swan bandwagon, never seen her play like, but she's clearly the new Graf.

Third time I've seen the great man win the Aus Open live. He is a beast. Pure God mode in that 4th set. Haven't seen that since 4th set US Open 2011.

Surely the existence of Djokovic should stop all body language stereotypes in tennis, but they just keep coming.
He doesn't at all bother to hide his frustration or when he's tired/in pain etc. Commits so many standard body language errors the commentators always go on about. And yet he's one of the most successful players of all time. His poor body language never really hinders his success.
Standard example is just now. 2-0, people are worrying about his ankles and the fact Murray can see he's in pain. Then bang, 2-2.
****ing yes. How many years do he and Murray have to do it before the comms learn? Stop saying they're tired and fatigued. Stop saying they're injured. Understand how they play ffs.

Unless these ****s are calling multiple injury time outs stop going on about it. Same thing vs. Stan too. Then he socks Stan 6-0 in the 5th.

That was ages ago for me tbf. I was 11. Only really got properly into tennis with the 2010 US Open.

Gawd it seems like yesterday to me. I remember when it was all fields around here, and still no-one played tennis, coz it was for poshos.

Novak closing his eyes and hitting forehand winners down match point vs. Fed - mach 1.
The lucky swing was 2011, but 2010 was equally good. Djokovic played near 2011 esq, but Nadal just had too much in the final. Unreal standard though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwNMNAamIEk. I remember watching that back after the Wimbledon final last year and thinking it was much better, but I guess the surfaced probably helped in that respect.

Yes but 2010 also had Novak just smacking forehands. Which is why when he did it again in 2011 Federer had a big massive wahhhh and gave the most embarrassing press conference ever.

Yeah Murray's poor second serve is a huge weakness that one can exploit. When he's cranking that second serve he is a different player altogether.
