Me too but I get the feeling McHesson questions Watling's strike rate at 7. (I'd just move him up to 6 and have Anderson at 7 but I don't think the selectors want to move Corey).
Watling will never be a Ronchi in terms of SR, but I would still do it as a straight swap given he's the next best option. It's easy to forget just how lucky we are to have the quality of Ronchi at 7.

Yeah, having both Watling and Elliott in the lower middle order isn't really ideal from an icing perspective. I think I'd probably have Watling at five in that situation but he'd probably just bat seven. That said, I'm not convinced Latham would be much better in a pure icing role than Watling anyway; he's certainly got more ability to go over the top once he's set but I don't think he really possesses those skills when he first comes to the crease.
Yeah my thoughts exactly.

As Hendrix mentioned a few days back, if Latham takes his opening opportunity and tons up & Guppy fails, it will be interesting how they'll approach selections in the 2 games against Pakistan. Will McCullum will take another game off, even himself drop back down the order just to have another look at Guppy & Latham opening or whether they'll give Guppy a rest and allow Latham to open with McCullum.

Guptill basically has to fail as well you'd think. Latham scoring a century while he gets a half-century or something wouldn't be enough to force a change.

The fact they're finally giving Latham a crack at the top of the order just makes more of a mockery of the fact they didn't in the UAE.

Mills is bowling nice areas straight away. 114 km/h though, thats...not exactly quick.
When it comes to Mills, I've learnt to focus on his performances rather than his speeds. If he gets collared, it will bother me, while he's bowling maidens, it wouldn't bother me if he's bowling at 95kms.

Can we all adopt this policy? Cheers. I'm not saying that as a kneejerk to Mill, just in general.

I'm not sure what's more annoying - being at work and therefore relying on Cricinfo commentary on the game, or the fact that the Cricinfo commentary is being dominated by people contributing "doppelgangers" that don't look remotely alike.

I still think we've missed a trick by not picking Henry for the World Cup.
Flem, you say that like a new revelation. :p Haven't almost all of us been repeating this like Mantra for the last 3 weeks? '

I still have a feeling one way or the other, whether it's Milne, Mills or on of the others with a niggle/injury, that we'll still see Henry at the WC at some stage.

Can't stand their new design either.

Watling at 5 is a good way to get Neesham in the team. More icing for the bigger cake.

I like the way Mills is bowling. His height and accuracy have been his key weapons on NZ pitches. Let's hope he picks up a bag of wickets here.

McMillan and the sweet potato a good shout though.
