Bleed_Blue - Dhoni183* proving to be an immensely effective heel tag team in the wake of WW-Blocky finally being defeated. Who will step up to defeat this two man power trip?
It's ridiculous for you to suggest they flatten it out.I heard they are not going to flatten the WACA out slightly, ridiculous, I hope it isn't a short match. SA and Australia skittled each other out for 150 odd recently in the odi series at this same ground. Who wants to watch such a seamer dominating match, particularly as the world cup is close, you want everyone to be tested fairly and warm up.
Not fully hendrix. Enough so we get a full game. Paying crowd, world cup is close, players need practice. I don't think a combined 40 over match with a slow run rate will do anyone any favours. The bowlers will get a false sense of confidence, batsmen will not have their technique truly tested and fans will leave early. I vividly remember that Aus v SA match and felt it was appalling. Mind you India's seam and maybe even England's is not as good as SA/Aus to do that kind of damage. It's ridiculous for you to suggest they flatten it out.

There's a balance. On some pitches no technique or approach is rewarded because it's heavily loaded in the bowler's favour. I believe the ICC warned groundsmen for creating such dangerous/unplayable pitches. If batsmen's techniques aren't tested in trying conditions i don't know when they are.
We get a full game if the batsmen are good enough to bat out the 50 overs in tough conditions. If that means a score of 220 I think that makes for very compelling viewing and is great practice for batsmen before the world cup.Not fully hendrix. Enough so we get a full game. Indeed. The whole 2002 test series in NZ that India played, NZ were warned. Also Eng V WI in the 90's, one pitch was deemed dangerous too.Only ODI I can ever remember where a pitch wasn't safe was that one in Delhi.
Well I am not worried in that sense. We probably have the best batting line up in ODI's and up there in tests too. Although last 2 odi games India not as great for various reasons. We get a full game if the batsmen are good enough to bat out the 50 overs in tough conditions. Those were not dangerous pitches. Green, yes, but the good batsmen (Dravid, Tendulkar) made runs. The low scores were down to very good bowling (heard of Shane Bond?) and not particularly good batting.Indeed. The whole 2002 test series in NZ that India played, NZ were warned.
Ha, really? Since when is the seaming ball considered dangerous? I attended a significant amount of that NZ/India series and I almost feel certain that not one ball reared more, or less than any other throughout. All had bounce, sure, as all green-tops do. But it was only dangerous to batsmen who weren't able to cope with seam and bounce - ie India at that time. And if the BCCI warned NZ, which I have no doubt they did, it was only strongarm tactics to protect broadcast dollars and their batsmen's egos, not their bones.Indeed. Zaheer and Srinath were good bowlers. What rubbish guys. SteveNZ if you followed that series in 02 you would know the Indian bowlers also had a terrific time, especially Zaheer Khan, Srinath.
Why do you think that the recent series between us had a fairer green pitch? ICC and BCCI intervention for a better truer game.
By the way Bond is one of my favourite bowlers so I do know about him. Tait is too but that's more because I have a similar action.Zaheer and Srinath were good bowlers.
Those pitches in the recent series were actually very green, particularly for the team batting first. India had a massive advantage winning both tosses because they flattened out completely after the first day. Unfortunately for India, their bowlers were so terrible they couldn't take wickets on them.
Green pitches actually even up the contest between India and NZ because it allows India's inferior bowlers to take wickets.
this is the most indian fan thing ever.I heard they are not going to flatten the WACA out slightly, ridiculous, I hope it isn't a short match. I do... Not all the time but just like I don't like seeing 300+ scores all the time like we do on the flat ODI wickets in India.I heard they are not going to flatten the WACA out slightly, ridiculous, I hope it isn't a short match. They were green but not like 2002, i'm sure we can agree there. That 2002 I was at college and couldn't believe those pitches.
We won at Lords on a green pitch, I still feel the 02 NZ pitches were worse. NZ had inept batsmen but as they were used to those conditions they scored a little more than India. We should have scored more for sure. That series still riles me up!
