Anyone else think Bailey's ban is a blessing in disguise for the Aussies (not that they need blessings atm)

India is going to need Akshar to grow up real fast in the absence of Jadeja. The team looks a batsman short the way it is currently. How good a Yuvraj in form would be for this team. Batting at 4 and rolling over his arm to get the ten in. Still wish he gets in for Jadeja if he can't make the world cup.

It might if they decide to give Smith a break for the game after this - it'll give them a chance to look at the reserve batsman who presumably would be called up if Clarke is ruled out of the WC (although all the news suggests that he's going to make it). I don't think it'll be of any assistance in forcing them to change their choice of back-up captain, though.

Not many tears would be shed, tbs.

It's a shame Warner wasn't around a few years back. It would have been fun to see him sledging guys like Viv Richards, Brian McMillan, Javed Miandad or Peter Willey.
Curtly says hi. We could probably make a long list of players who would have fun with Warner.

I think it's an interesting situation they have here. Surely Bailey's lack of form now suggests that they do need Clarke now in the team. But when is he expected to return? Is going to play in the tri-series or warm-ups? They certainly don't him coming in the world cup and start failing there.

I have always thought they definitely need Clarke in the team. They need people to build the innings when the top order doesn't click. I think they need Clarke the captain too. Wasn't a fan of Smith the captain in the test series. Will look forward to see if it's any different in ODI.

There's been hints that he might play in the warm-up vs the UAE (which, I mean, is as warm-up as a warm-up gets).

Absolutely because whoever they choose is going to miles better than the out-of-form Bailey. Probably either Shaun Marsh or White.

Voges should be the reserve IMO. Good record, good form and can hold things together around the hard hitters. Basically a poor mans Michael Clarke (and not that poor anyway).

Marsh is top order cover IMO, and we have about 10 million opening/#3 batsmen already.

Lynn/Ferguson/Voges are the options I'd be looking at.

i'd go with smarsh, bloke is a gun limited overs player and can bat anywhere in the order really, even if you'd prefer to have him open

So this is basically Binny's make or break game I guess, if he can bowl a reasonable amount of overs and make an impact then he will get more gigs, reckon we are expecting too much from his bowling, would have played Ashwin and kept Rayudu out. Bleh..
