Wake up, check the score, not sure to be pleased we passed 200 or dismayed that it won't challenge yer convicts to break a sweat

Given our comedy start, it's some relief to have reached 3 figures, let alone 234. Wonderful knock by the skipper. Probably in vain wrt winning this match, but at least we haven't ended up looking complete tools, unless Aus chase this down ridiculously quickly.

Still depressing to see how poor most of our 'batting' is though. I know they're under-cooked, but you'd think that the rest of the top 7 could have managed something better than this.

Biggest problem is that although the wicket isn't a featherbed it's still not the sort of one you defend 230 odd on. For that you need early wickets and this looks like quite a good one to bat on with a new ball. It's more the sort of pitch you might be able to suffocate the oppo in the middle when they're chasing 280.

Yeah suspect thats why Morgan went so hard with a few overs to go, could have come off and got to 260 odd.
Mind you he has given them a shot, just need to bowl really well

Thats where Tredwell will be missed today by England.

ffs, I honestly had 'reckon they'll get 230 and Morgan will get a hundred' typed out but didn't post it back when Butler was still on 15 or so.

Yup, feel England were about 30-40 short of making a competitive game out of it, 260 was looking on just prior to Morgan being dismissed.

Mine you, if they can get a 2-3 early wickets including Warner, they're a chance. If they don't, it'll be will be a cake-walk for the men in green,

Ahh Finn, how many bowlers now-days let themselves down with the last ball of the over.
