I think "Doing a Kohli" should relate more so to going on a press conference and having the balls to call out Australia in their own country, mentioning their temper tantrums and fact that they get overly emotional which makes him laugh and want to perform more against them. He's been brilliant this series at trolling Australia, it's just a shame that Rahane aside, no one else has been on the journey with him.

To be fair the temper tantrums have been even with Kohli/India and the Australians, Kohli was very reactive in Adelaide but he's got better as the series has gone on and has definitely been getting on a few nerves by his runscoring and alleged boasting.

If I didn't know better I'd almost say he was Australian.

He reminds me of Sourav Ganguly + Kevin Pietersen + Steve Waugh all rolled up in one angry man who enjoys making other men angrier. The amount of pressure he placed on himself making himself that big of a target after that press conference and to be able to come out and smash the runs mercilessly while continuing to mock them and laugh at their sledges has been unbelievable.

I also like it (From an NZer perspective) because it at least stops the charade that somehow Australia was going to play under the spirit of cricket, not be a bunch of uppity sledging bastards and not attempt intimidatory tactics after the recent tragedy. The series has actually helped cricket get back to what it should be, a hard spirited contest rather than the **** show we saw in the UAE when NZ played Pakistan and couldn't be bothered celebrating wickets/runs/etc.

True - Vijay has also been a shining light.

I'm most disappointed in Pujara, which is the obvious one - but not so obvious is my disappointment in Ishant Sharma. He's bowled some spells and in patches where he shows his toolset to be capable of being world class, then he goes completely within his shell. I was hoping this would be the series that he found his length and would be a hassle to the Aussies. Ashwin has also been disappointing and I wonder (without going and having a look at subsequent results or any news/headings as to why) why Jadeja isn't playing at 6.

****, there goes the entertainment for the day. Oh well.

Has starc finally leant that he should be a bang it into the pitch sort of bowler instead of constantly bowling the really floaty and drivable stuff?

Though seeing that there's no swing at all it makes sense that he would do it like this, but I think this works out so much better for him in red ball cricket.

Yeah he's looked much better here. I suspect someone's simply told him to bowl exactly like how the other Mitch would. Still bowls a few too many legside pies, mind.
