I don't think there's a New Zealander alive who shares that view.

Haddin would've swatted 20 in an attempt to be a big swinging dick, and exposed the tail.

The only instance you'd take him is 450-5, a situation a team man like BJ cares little for.

Probably, although I thought that looked like quite a tough chance. The drop on the boundary was a bad miss though.

True, it's also not insane to think NZ would have had a sizable 1st innings lead if Sanga had of nicked one of those 5-6 play and misses early in his innings & our 3 best batsmen didn't all play the ball back onto the stumps in the 1st innings, or if NZ actually won the toss. All heresay.

I'm almost at the point where I think we're 50-50.

That's my thoughts too, 250 towards the end of next session would be ideal, then we can start to look for quick runs. I'd want to be setting a 3.2 to 3.5 RPO for Sri Lanka to win.

Seeing as these two have got us out of jail there's no point in even giving them a sniff IMO. Grind them out of the game.

Plays and misses happen to everyone though.. There were probably 5 for Kane himself. Dropping dollies != playing on (wrong shot selection) != play and missing (could be good technique).

Either way, it's speculation and heresay. Could've would've should've etc. Who knows what Watling and the tail would have done, the pitch is flat after all.

Superb reading that.. the only two players in the NZ line up who I think approach the game in the same way are Watling and Williamson. Both train the house down and you can see them actively changing and learning as they go.

I'd love to read a Sanga version of Rigor's book - talking about his thought processes, how he went about adapting his game and what he takes into games as his plan.

I know there is a similar thread dealing with Williamson, but what could actually go wrong for him now? Massive attitude problem? Debilitating injury? Massive loss of form? And none of those seem overly likely. Guy could end up with 40 test centuries.
