Haha I was actually tempted to make the argument earlier that Pujara had been even worse than Rohit in 2014 earlier in the series when the Rohit haters were out in force, but I felt it was a bit cheeky considering he played an amazing innings in SA in Dec 2013. I can see the statistical, deontological selection process reasons for dropping him but it really is just complete madness regardless.

Kohli seems too funky with his selections. In Adelaide, selecting Aaron and Karn together seemed non-sensical to me. Dropping Pujara now will be worse. Pujara has looked good in this tour, and is probably due a big score in Sydney. Both Pujara and Rohit should play in Sydney. If Rahul has to play, he can come in for Dhawan.

How much sway will Kohli have though? Dhoni getting a say is one thing, but the rookie captain is less likely to have that influence IMO.

He said taking Karn Sharma in Adelaide was his decision.

I don't see Shastri, Fletcher or Dhoni prefering Karn ahead of Ashwin.

I think it would have been weird for the stand-in captain to make that sort of call on his own if the others disagreed though. I can see Kohli having a lot of say in the Sydney Test side but not so much the Adelaide Test side.

"That was my personal decision. We felt that Karn was bowling better than the other two spinners at the time. In the warm-up games and the practice sessions as well… It was my personal decision. No regrets."

Maybe he didn't face much opposition; but insisted twice that was his personal decision.

Fox Sports reporting Dhawan dropped after Kohli and him had to be separated in Melbourne.

Da **** is going on.

Can't say Kohli isn't making **** interesting. Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Pujara just can't be right though, that's madness ffs.

Just want to be clear here, I do not support Pujara being dropped at all. But if he is, I am going to bump the "Best Indian Bat" thread and **** up everyone who voted Pujara. Hard.
