***Official**** Sri Lanka in New Zealand 2014/2015

Our ill-disciplined first innings batting is going to cost us in this Test. Sangakarra has demonstrated how to bat on this pitch. I think SL will get at least a 50 run lead and then we'll be up against it.

So the new ball is 10 overs away, that should be the last thing we're thinking about with this Sri Lankan tail. Bowling Craig is playing into their hands, surely.

Having made the comment about our ill-disciplined batting we did have some bad luck with three players chopping on. Yesterday one of the SL players could have quite easily played on but ended up getting a boundary when he inside edged a ball between his legs! Can't remember who it was.

Prasad is a filthy biffer and Craig is getting some turn so Craig is a good move imo.

Should bring Doug back on for a couple soon though.

Agree, I don't care how anyone tries to spin it, when your top 3 batsmen all play the ball back onto their stumps in the same innings, it's miserably luck.

That's cricket mate. Sometimes luck goes your way and other times it doesn't.

It will be very interesting to see how our batsmen play in the second innings. It's only the second day! The best situation I can see is if we roll SL for a small lead, say 30 runs, and then score 350. SL will have a chase in the order of 320 runs with two days to bat. I think the pitch will get easier to bat on but will start to take turn towards the end of the fourth day.

Sanga shows his class and comes back from failure to go big again..hopefully he will get the support from the tail to keep going and get us into a good position...

He's up there with Miandad & Dravid in terms of sub-continent players who prosper in NZ conditions.
