Rahane could have been boring and played responsibly but if anyone below him in the order wasn't a ****ing moron or useless or both it wouldn't have been so important.

He's a nutter and I love it.

Why not score as many as you can while you're in and seeing it well rather than chancing it for quick runs and leaving the scoring to the 4th innings where you know the pressure will be on?

I'm not questioning the quality and importance of his innings, just how he completely changed his approach to the game after doing so much hard work. I wouldn't mind at all if he had been aggressive, but backing away and trying to slap everything around was a questionable tactic. Could have come off but was it worth the risk with a 160 run deficit?

Nah, seriously though, why not blame the middle order who can't score any runs instead of the guy who made 146?

Also yeah, love rahane ever since the lords ton. **** kohli, I'm in the rahane fanclub.

I think it's to trick the Indians to add Karn Sharma so that he can bowl more pies and further weaken the tail.

Manjrekar: "Harris doesn't seem to you a bowler with such a low strike rate.. doesn't look like a strike bowler. More a bowler that holds an end up"

No one's blaming him. Best innings of the match for mine, but it was weird to see him start more or less slogging at 3/350 or w/e it was

We are going to win the fourth. Bhuvi to come back and destroy the Aussie top order. Saha to, importantly, NOT drop a catch. Harris to break down in the middle of the test. Kohli to be amazemaxx! :kicking:

Yeh, Clarke would've had a go at this - but McCullum is also one that would have gambled to win. He's made plenty of aggressive declarations before.

Hard to judge Smith on it, being that he's only the temporary captain.
Impossible to judge. A draw wins Australia the series. Guy is in his second Test as skipper, rolling the dice on a flat one where runs have been plentiful was never an option. I'm sure Lehmann was a big part of the decision too.

But of course that doesn't stop Johnny SocialMedia from airing his opinion that draw=bad declaration.

In other news, I can't wait until Haddin retires. Cancer on the spirit of the game.
