Was Siddle with the squad at the Gabba? I wouldn't be surprised if they did this just because he was absent.
He probably wasn't. Pretty unprofessional though. You're hosting a side with vegetarians in it, and not only do you fail to provide for them, but you don't even let them bring food into the ground? Incredible.

Fmd India loves a whinge. Not the food thing which is understandable, but the practice wickets. Worst guests anywhere. They expect people to visit over there and basically walk around up to their knees in human excrement, but heaven forbid a bloke gets hit on the hand in the nets....

Yea the complaining about the practice wickets was way off. How are you supposed to learn to deal with tough batting conditions if you don't practice on them? If anything they should have played more on that uneven pitch. Might have helped them last today's morning session.

They should be grateful, firstly that they get invited here after previous teams' **** acts, and secondly that the dodgy deck knocked some sense into Dhawan.

How does Watson never get his place questioned?

Contrast him with Hughes constantly getting dropped, it's ridiculous.

Re: India's collapse - India have lost more than 5 wickets for less than 100 runs on 12 occasions in 2014 alone.

Incredible.

australia lost 12 of the 26 matches hughes played in. hughes often didn't perform very well in them and was an easy candidate to be dropped following the loss
australia have lost 15 of the 46 matches watson has played in since his recall in 09. watson has been an average performer in those loses and hence escaped unharmed while hughes, doolan etc have got the chop

If Australia had lost this match, Watson might be gone. But the team won so.

Selectors have an infatuation with crappy all-rounders. I think we need a new term for cricketers like Watson where none of the skills are up to test standard but somehow the combination of them is? T20 cricket is infested with them.

Yeah he did. That's the problem. He does several things "quite well" from time to time when the mood takes him.

All well and good for T20 and ODI but not tests.

It's worse than just infatuation. They over value T20 and ODI form. That's what will see Arun play test cricket. Which is just filthy. No Shield games will keep those players right in the selectors minds also. I expect at least one funky selection before the series is over.

to India's credit, at least they have been in the game in both the test matches, and have had the upper hand for a good period of time. Much better than their last tour. Although I get the feeling that this loss would be very demoralizing for them, might break their will.

We have had the upper hand so many times over the last few months that it can no longer be considered a positive. Being in thatpposition and finding a way to lose is not a good thing, especially when it becomes a frequent occurrence.

yeah but getting an upper hand and then losing is always > getting thrashed

It is a relative positive
