Power Papps holding firm so far. You'd have to think that if he can make a score on a greentop against Southee and Boult, then that'd count for a lot in terms of a callup for the SRL series.
Was scared I would have to count myself as convinced if Power Papps could score runs here. But fortunately out for 24 and the No Papps In Tests campaign holds firm once again.

Different coach and different captain but still a seeming ridiculous lack of confidence in Dean Bartlett in the Auckland set up.

5th choice in good fast bowling conditions in first innings (after Cachopa and Grobelaaar dobblers)

Still not bowled in second innings (5 bowlers used do far).

What am I not seeing?

Volts spinner Nick Beard withdraws from cricket to re-model action | Stuff.co.nz

Otago Volts left-arm spinner Nick Beard has temporarily withdrawn from top level cricket to re-model his action.

The move follows concern expressed by umpires this summer and biometric testing of Beard's action, organised by New Zealand Cricket, at the ICC-accredited facility in Brisbane.

The testing identified Beard's elbow "flex" was more than the allowed 15-degrees of tolerance.
To be honest with you Diane, I'm surprised.

He didn't come out to bat this morning (retired hurt on the scorecard) so I'm guessing he's injured or ill.

Andre Adams is the constant. He runs a little refuge for the 125 men, guys with the control to set batsmen up over a series of deliveries.

Ugh, don't send in Carter. Time for a Southee promotion I feel. There's weather to beat.

I hadn't seen that Brendon McCullum was named an 'NZer of the Year' by the NZ Herald.

2014 New Zealander of the Year: Brendon McCullum - New Zealanders of the Year - NZ Herald News

He deserves the accolade. Has had a huge year on the cricket field and also off it, and has to take some of the credit for renewing interest in NZ cricket amongst the public.
Ironically the other major newspaper brand in the the country painted him as quite a bad guy this year, seeking a weekend court injunction to keep us in the dark about something really bad.

Any enemy of Fairfax and its cricket coverage probably is a deserving New Zealander of the Year for now.

AAAARGH! I just finished work for the year and rushed home to turn on the telly. Australia vs India. Big Bash. Pakistan vs New Zealand. New Zealand vs Sri Lanka. My summer break was sorted. Two minutes in and my freakin' telly CAUGHT ON FIRE.

Plenty of time with a better attack than last week, but they need to declare overnight or early tomorrow.

Current forecast:
Sat - Cloudy, afternoon showers, rain from evening
Sun - Rain, some heavy, to showers afternoon.

I'm starting to think Dougeh's really got Wagner on the ropes here now. As much as Hesson tends to be less hasty with the axe than CW is.

Give it some gusto ND. Every time I catch a few seconds of the lunchtime Farming Show, they're talking to one of about four different weather forecasters, so you of all teams should be able to get this right.

What brand and when did you buy it?

Samsung LED, bought in January this year. Samsung have agreed to replace it BUT need to check that it is the TV that developed a fault first. And they can't get a guy out to do that until 29 December. No Boxing Day cricket watching for me. Poo.

@Binkley - Rent one for a week.

Even just some 26 incher will do for the time being.
Yeah. I will do something. I just need to feel aggrieved for a little while longer.

On the plus side, Samsung were great to deal with on the phone.
