Between you beating the Watling drum and Hendrix with the Latham proposal it is hard to know where to turn to for even and balanced analysis. Wait I know where...Fox News.Watling is not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need.
Look to uncle Zinzan, you know you want to.Between you beating the Watling drum and Hendrix with the Latham proposal it is hard to know where to turn to for even and balanced analysis. Wait I know where...Fox News.
I'm not so sure tbh, unless of course the players families were directly affected. I accept this was an absolutely horrendous event, but imho very different to the both the 'Hughes' situation, which obviously had a very deep & direct connection to cricket & the 2004/05 Asian/Pacific Tsunami which saw SL abandoning their tour of NZ, but of course that involved players families along with over 200,000 casualties. They should take the game off IMO
Some of the Pakistan players do have strong family ties in Peshawar. Most of Pakistan is in shock not because of the number of lives lost but because specifically children were targeted. Perhaps you don't find it as disturbing but your comment "without taking anything away from this tragedy" seems to be taking a lot away from this tragedy. Sounds quite insensitive.I'm not so sure tbh, unless of course the players families were directly affected. Without taking anything away from this tragedy in which approx 130 innocent lives were taken, would it have also warranted 'taking the game off' for the following two similar instances in Pakistan the last 12-24 months?
22 September 2013: Militants linked to the Taliban kill at least 80 people at a church in Peshawar, in one of the worst attacks on Christians
10 January 2013: Militant bombers target the Hazara Shia Muslim minority in the city of Quetta, killing 120 at a snooker hall and on a street.
Sorry you feel that way. Where I come from preceding a point with "without taking anything away from..." actually aids in providing sensitivity, otherwise I wouldn't have said it. If there's players families involved, then by all means they should be back on a plane to Pakistan to aid their families & should not be thinking about cricket. Some of the Pakistan players do have strong family ties in Peshawar. And what does your statement imply, that if they didn't take the game off for that tragedy then they do not have any right to request a game off for this?Sorry you feel that way. So what point are you trying to make here? What's the agenda?Without taking anything away from this tragedy in which approx 130 innocent lives were taken, would it have also warranted 'taking the game off' for the following two similar instances in Pakistan the last 12-24 months?
