That seems to be the consensus so far so I reckon we run with that. Shame we've paid for it and wont get to display it but it's just one of those things...........a hell of a lot has happened in the last few weeks and whilst it did seem a good idea at the time, it really doesn't feel quite right now.

Yeah sorry to word it like that. Didn't mean to be abrupt. I was just agreeing with what was said about Abbott's state of mind. As you say its shame after all the organising, work, scheduling and donations but its just as respectful not to unfurl it as it was well intended to create it.

A quick thanks to you Adders for driving this whole thing. I know a lot of others have contributed mightily but you've given it the push through. You're a good man.

Thanks mate ........and your post didn't come over abruptly in any way at all and I agree with yours and others thoughts that the wording on the Abbott banner just isn't appropriate anymore.

When we all threw around the ideas for that banner it was after scenes of Sean looking like a broken man. It is a credit to him and the people around him that we are now seeing footage of him taking wickets and bouncing batsmen out........to tell him now to "stay strong" would almost be condescending. Clearly this young man is not lacking in strength of character.

Seems like the most sensible decision has been made regarding the Abbott banner.

This certainly shouldn't detract from the excellent work that Wizz and Adders did as well as the overall community in putting it together. I echo big bambino's post.

Paul Allridge, the Gabba ca sual events manager, got a ruling supposedly from Cricket Australia, that this banner is prohibited as it contains advertising. They wont even let me tie it in a way that cuts off the bottom advertising
