Collectively some of the worst team defending and goalkeeping I have ever seen.

No effort to close anyone down or stay with men, followed by Jones getting out the way.

Now it should be obvious why Mignolet was #1 for so long...

Liverpool are putting our defence under absolutely no pressure. Every time we give it them they launch it back at us.

It's like watching someone try and crack a very delicate egg with a sponge.

Valdes probably sat in the stand thinking 'Thank **** I'm not working with their keeping coaches'

Norwood's on Fire
Is Sterling kidding with that effort
Btw shocking officiating for the second Man U goal

Only defence is it was that faint a touch by RVP and it didn't deflect the ball so made it very difficult for the linesman - Mata would've been offside if it wasn't touched so he was a bit damned either way.

Liverpool playing like a Utd side. Valencia playing like the Valencia of old.

De Gea has just been offered my first born daughter to marry after that save.

Can't say enough about how immense De Gea has been over the last few months. Has pulled off insane saves at key moments virtually every week.

De Gea in such good form this season, loving watching it.

Deserved win from United. No idea what Rodgers is doing atm. Allen and Lovren were particularly terribad.

Really? I knocked it off after De Gea's attempted interview - clearly didn't have a clue what was being asked of him (good to see RVP having a laugh and a joke, he's in good spirits ATM and it's showing on the pitch).

Even though the stats suggest Liverpool had more chances, there was never a point in the match I felt they would win - after the first I didn't even fancy them for the draw TBH - not like we were amazing but they were so wasteful, Any other team would've converted those chances, but I ngver doubted Liverpool would spurn them.

You're having a laugh I reckon. Liverpool made far more chances, and better chances, than United did all game. And dangerous chances as well. Unfortunately, we don't have what you guys are well stocked with: world class forwards and a world class keeper.

Sturridge playing in this game would have had a hat-trick.

What an earh was the keeper doing for the last goal?
Pretty much the same thing he did for the first, namely getting into a tremendously imbalanced body position that committed him completely to going to his right hand side and being entirely unable to work back/push back onto his left. Jak Alnwick did the same thing for Cazorla's first yesterday.

Contrast that with De Gea who is beautifully neutral, balanced and able to react in any direction without any delay.Neutral position and weight balance has great overlap between fielding/GK/WK skills. I may even have to find a video of some of his saves (the one low down to his right from Balotelli with a defender in the way was my personal favourite) when I'm doing some fielding work over the winter.

United's three goals came from one offside position and two instances of Brad Jones getting out the way. Liverpool created multiple excellent chances but failed to finish them, so I don't think Rodgers is too far from the mark in noting that it was a decent creative performance. He's kidding himself if he's not seriously concerned about the fact that they couldn't turn this into anything substantial, mind.

Yeah they weren't huge errors but he looked a pretty poor keeper.

Rodgers is just obsessively positive to the point of dishonesty. You can't ram your team full of players who can create but not finish, then try to crack that you deserved to win because you created a lot of chances you failed to finish. He played no strikers; we played three. Liverpool's keeper is ****e; United's is excellent. Who did he expect to be the more clinical?

They created marginally more than United but given their deficiencies at both ends of the pitch, they needed to win the midfield battle by a far more convincing margin to have any chance of winning the game.

Yeah, this. In a way Liverpool aren't far off being a good side but their weaknesses are glaring. The space United had for the first and third goals was obscene and the lack of a finisher means you have to create so many more chances than most. Balotelli actually took the chance he got quite well and it was a top class save; obviously he's been **** this season but he may have been able to knock one in first half. Within minutes of his chance the game was done.

Sturridge will obviously improve them but they have a lot of work to do.
