I have hope for the future though. The BCCI will obviously soon take a cue from England and bring in some Afghan/Pakistani talent.

India are just awful at Tests.

I don't get how a cricket mad nation of 800 million people can be so ****. How hard is it to produce 3 decent fast bowlers FFS. England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan are all smaller than us and still have better attacks, and cricket isn't even the main sport in four of those countries!
This could be addressed and answered in a three-lettered acronym, couldn't it?

Most of the fast bowlers in the sides you listed there don't focus their main energy on hitting the hole, bowling slower balls and generally trying not to get hit into downtown Mumbai. They learn to set people up, get them out in ways other than caught deep midwicket.

Can't see that issue being conquered by India anytime soon. And everyone's happy. I certainly enjoyed my side beating them while they perform their plummet down the world Test rankings.

Nah the track looks decent. Kohli, Rahane and Pujara are quality. I can understand pessimism to the point of absolute hopelessness when it comes to our bowling attack but our batting is okay and I expect them to perform.
Looking forward to seeing these blokes bat actually.

But I actually don't think it's possible to consistently score runs against an attack with two bowlers like Harris and Johnson have been in recent times. They've been ridiculous.

Yep agreed. If they bowl like they did to England and Australia, then the weather is about the only thing that can save us.

To be fair to the Indian bowlers this constant delay is probably worst for bowlers than batsmen. Not that they had great rhythm but this would make it worst.

They're talented batsmen of course but there has to be something else lacking for them to **** up so badly so often. They might come good here and make us eat crow but I doubt it If someone like David Warner has improved his game to become what he is today, I can only think there's something wrong with the way these guys go about their trade.

Doesn't help that the bowlers regularly keep them out on the park for two days running. Tired legs and tired minds don't bat so well.

We weren't any better when we didn't have the IPL.

Indian batsmen should get a few complementary overs from Aaron/Shami/Ishant and the rest of the crapheap to make it fair to them statswise tbf.

I'll quote this post again when we're 66-6
Ridiculous levels of Gambhiring. India's batting is pretty decent. While their bowling is ****e I hadn't expected bowlers to be going at 5.5 RPO over 20+ overs.

Pujara, Rahane, Vijay are all pretty good. And this not being England (lack of swing) should see Kohli among the runs as well.

Do you think the BCCI will care if India get humiliated here and in the World Cup?

Do you think the fans will eventually stop watching and supporting India?

Do you think that at any point things will change and India will finally learn to develop a decent bowling attack?

Bit rich of you to be talking about Gambhiring isn't it. Piss off if you're going to take every post literally.
