***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2014/15

I think ND will continue to elude Wgtn tbh. You'll find this pitch just won't suit Wellington's boomingly expansive style. When ND spots a predator like Adam Milne or Brad Hodge coming up on the draw, they have contingency plans to switch clays and switch colours, like a little lizard.

I don't think we can bolster our spin ranks with Heef's boy Houghton because of an ongoing injury. Blundell looked like a shocking offspinner.

Sodhi is set to replace off-spinner Joe Walker in a squad which otherwise shouldn't change from the one that was in Napier last weekend.

It will add further depth to the slow bowling ranks, with off-spinner Jono Boult being a key for ND in the short format, and left-armer Mitchell Santner having been outstanding in his first season of domestic T20.

"Nice balance, isn't it," Pamment said. "One of each flavour. And we know that the surface at Seddon Park has assisted slow bowling. So with Mitchell batting in the top order it doesn't affect the balance too much."

Patel+Woodcock will do the job. Smart moneys on what the guy at the bottom of the fantasy draw is picking.

Shame. Howie's been going well for Taita this season. Its hard to understand an injury that allows you to play one or two day club cricket but not a proper T20. I do wonder if taking a full time teaching job has impaired his ability to take on commitments for Wellington.

Should've just opened with Seifert. Wilson has to be the worst (for a regular) domestic cricketer going around. How he's still in the set up I have no idea

Seifert undone by the class and pace of Grant Elliot.

Now to watch the real batsmen play. Power Papps to return on Boxing Day.

The Comms team drooling all over Santner. He's well on track for that intl callup by next season.

Poor stuff from ND. Should have been 160+. At least they had a better batting selection and order tonight, but the sequence of dots and singles in last six overs (only 1 four) isn't good enough. Picking Aucks to romp home 4-down.

4-down with 15 balls to spare :) I didn't see it, but sounds like a hugely impressive innings by Cachopa. Any odds on him playing for England one day?

How about Ian Smith tonight, firing (for him) some shots. He loves Santner, couldn't shut up about him. Would have him the 30 man squad for the World Cup, made a point to mention he's a much better cricketer than Anton Devcich and then sort of fired some shots at Vettori. Couldn't believe what I was hearing, so unlike him.

I'm against piracy/illegal activity obviously, but what are my odds of watching the final tonight from across the Tasman?

Didn't see the game, but Smith can be quite outspoken on occasions. Hard to not pick Vettori for the WC squad, but Santner's bowling sounds class & would probably offer more with the bat now and obviously in the field. Incredible competition for spots in relation to the bowling positions.

PEWS' Santner call looking pretty good.

After the world cup all the blokes who won't or might not make the next (Baz, NcCullum, Ronchi and Mills) should focus on tests or be rotated a bit so we can develop a team for 2019. Guys like Santner, Watling, Boult, Henry and Milne should be getting a lot more game time then.

Cornwall player logic: Wear sunglasses, look up at catch, obviously lose sight of catch for a time, put hands outstretched and get in your excuses, rather than continue to look skyward and possibly find said catch again.

Wonderful.
