No idea. But gotta give him a chance to fail first before passing judgement.

Isn't great against sideways movement but haven't seen anything from him si far to show he's as bad against bounce as Raina or Gambhir.

india will probably get smashed in this series and then it'll be australia's turn to be violated in india. sides that just win in conditions that they know bore me.

hopefully india can reverse the trend this time because they are a lot more likable than wankers like clarke and warner.

i'll start following these boring sides when they something in conditions alien to them.

Oh I can't wait for Australia to do something in alien conditions so we get the great DingDong following us. ****.

Haha are people actually considering dropping Bhuvi? Dude's a gun, he's a smart bowler and all this talk of "if there is no swing he'll struggle" is overdone IMO. The reason he tapered off slightly towards the second half of the England series has more to do with the fact that he scored 3 half centuries and had to be on the field for more time than a bowler should be required to. If he didn't do all that batting I defo woulda backed him to get more wickets than he did.

Bhuvi / Ishant or Yadav / Aaron IMO. I'm a big fan of Yadav in tests but Ishant has done very well this year so its hard to keep him out. I would also play both Ashwin and Karn Sharma. 4 Bowlers on an Aussie tour is just asking for trouble.

It won't happen, but if he looks out of his depth in the first test and nobody would be surprised, would be very tempted to bin Dhawan and get Rahene to open. It's a huge ask to get Rahul to open at that age in Australia. I suppose you could also push Pujara and the rest up a spot, but Rahene opening overseas is something I think could work and its probably going to happen someday, sooner the better really!

Johnson even when he was a bit of a hosepipe was always surprisingly useful in dry, slow conditions because he'd bowl tons of cutters and mix up his lengths. The way Clarke likes to use him nowadays (as basically the bowling equivalent of a cannon) probably has come at the expense of that style of bowling, though, which requires a bit more patience.

I'd think Pujara is a much better option there than Rahane. Rahane has no. 4/5 written on his name in the long term.

I believe Shane Warne refers to that as "natural variation"

Yeah Pujara opening could work, the reasons I'd like to see Rahene open is did he not open domestically for ages and done exceptionally well domestically, and in this year on his travels has looked more comfortable than most against the new ball?

Australia are 3(W) -3(L) -1(Draw) in non-home series since Clarke became captain.

Last years ashes was the only one of those lost series that included their best bowler.
