Moeen must be wondering why he bothers. Either he scores one of the blisteringly brilliant ODI tons we've seen from and Englishman which goes to waste because the rest of them are so hopeless, or he gets run out but his numbskulled partner when set to do something similar today. Mind you, the way the rest of them are batting, he'd have needed to make about 150 to see us home in this match.

James Taylor must be wondering wtf he's done wrong not to get a game ahead of most of this lot.

I must've missed the bit where we'd already lost.

Can't wait to see wp's opinion of Taylor after he's spent a few games in the side.
Fairish point. But his domestic record suggests he's due a game ahead of what we generally see from these chaps. Whether he can step up is, of course, another matter. The way that Moeen has completely shown up the incumbents in this series suggests that there may be better options out there.

Do you reckon? 8 an over x 10 overs from the last five wickets is a pretty stiff ask for most lineups. Depends who's still out there, I guess.
I think with the depth of our batting lineup we should be. Though you have to factor in the 4 overs where SL will dominate with the power play.

Aye, the power play is always a delight. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, which would be nice. Good start to the PP from Root there.

Nah, not in modern cricket, it's pretty straight-forward. It could be for us, if just one of these stays in awhile, because there's enough hitters come the end.

I do think that you and cabs have a bit more faith in Stokes, Woakes & Jordan than I do. Good county players, but I haven't seen much at international level to suggest they will do the business today. Maybe in a year or two when they have a bit more experience. Pretty much down to these two imo.

And tbf the wet ball should help us if that last delivery is anything to go by.

You don't need a lot though. If they combine for 20 off 12 it would be OK if one of these guys can stay in.

Nah, I have little faith in them, I'm still arguing the point that if we weren't English we'd be comfortable faves with the position. Those guys are English though, so I fully expect them to self-destruct ridiculously.

The stupid horns are fun when you've had a few and blowing away on them..agree tho, annoying to listen to on the fx mic..edit- there aren't any horns here?only the band..

They're struggling to really hit Mendis but he'll bowl at least one boundary ball an over. Herath worries me though. Still has two overs left.
