How the hell did van Wyk get away with obstructing the wicketkeeper there? I'm sure Kippax will come up with the video, but he basically put his hand in between the keeper's gloves to prevent him fielding the ball. Terrible.

"What would the Northern Knights do if it happened to them....the whole day would just disintegrate" :p

Hira almost getting the first domestic T20 ton since 2012, that year the star NZ players played. Serious agribusinessman.

Binkley

U19 Captain
Anyone know the story with Anarug Verma? I remember watching him in youth cricket and drooling over his action, pace, bounce and swing. Has he just cut down to medium pace for Twenty20, did he suffer an injury, or is my memory just turning fanciful in my old age?

Has had a heap of injuries over the years, I believe. Has barely had an injury free season since those U19 days from the sounds of things.

He was never a swing bowler ftr. But yeah, injuries and a big focus on his studies pulled him back abit.

Sodhi return boosts Knights | Stuff.co.nz

The Northern Knights will welcome back Ish Sodhi for this weekend's Twenty20 finals in Hamilton, but they won't have the services of their other returning Black Caps test players.

Fast bowlers Tim Southee and Trent Boult, and wicketkeeper BJ Watling, are all unavailable for the defending champions.

New Zealand Cricket decided that Southee and Boult, along with New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, would skip the Twenty20 and ODI series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in order to be refreshed for a busy home summer, while Watling – who wasn't selected in the Black Caps limited overs squad – is resting up a couple of niggling injuries.

Knights coach James Pamment said Watling had been playing through a hip problem, which had surfaced all the way back at the team's first training session in Raipur at the Champions League in September.

The 29-year-old will see a doctor this week to try and heal the complaint and won't play in ND's Plunket Shield match against Otago in Dunedin starting next Thursday, but is eyeing a return for the game against Wellington in Hamilton from December 18-21.

That match will also see Southee and Boult return to the park, with the fixture included in their NZC rest, recovery and conditioning plan – which is based around preparing them for their next international – the Boxing Day test against Sri Lanka in Christchurch.
Oh no, my alliance with ND at $4.50 has been rocked by this news.

Better not be all magnanimous to the other teams and play the weekend on that bouncy Patumahoe again. It better be very dry and turning Waikari.
