So, seeing weldone has declared his R11 pick and can't steal Ponting off me, and considering no one else can afford Ponting, I can finish my team. My final two choices are Mark Waugh (R10) and Ricky Ponting (R11)

With Taylor, Waugh, Greenidge, Ponting and Lara, plus Garner in the gully, I have the greatest cordon ever drafted!

Unless weldone cuts you short, you have Ponting.
He can't can he? He's got no points left after Lillee...

Something I've enjoyed in this draft is seeing Watson methodically put together a very strong side after burning all his points on Bradman in R1.

In the end the players I paid for were Ponting, Lara and Garner. I think I ****ed up a bit getting Akhtar, but I do like the idea of Akhtar, Garner and Johnson together. Can't imagine many batsmen would enjoy facing those three.

Fantastic top 6. Wildly unpredictable bowling attack. Would definitely pay to watch this team.

Agreed! But I'm wondering who the 'work-horse' of the attack is? Can't really be Akhtar, Johnson or Garner, so fortunately Underwood is an accurate methodical kind of spinner who can bowl all day. He's going to get a lot of overs, as is Waugh - provided that the 3 quicks don't blow the opposition away in the opening sessions of course.

That's what's great about this team - box office, but could potentially have the worst bowling attack of all time: relentless leg-side wides, crying and fights with spectators on the boundary.

And the combined egos in this team could sell 1 trillion million autobiographies. I love this team.

After a long time I decided to play a draft on my own terms (i.e. took a conscious decision not to worry about votes at all). I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for the great work Ankit.

Garner played the stock bowler role for the WIs for years before Walsh came along. Garner could bowl very long accurate spells (taking wickets regularly) while the other two quicks attacked in 4 or 5 over bursts. Underwood is miserly too, so I think it'd work.

Haha! Tubby Taylor is there to keep everything under control, so don't worry!

Yeah fair enough. It's hard to visualise a 6 foot 8 fast bowler bowling 'long accurate spells', but of course that doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
