Not really. Shoab at his peak could rip through some pretty awesome batting line ups
Yup. That match against Australia in Colombo. Just so ridiculous. Made the likes of Ponting, the Waughs and Gilchrist look like novices.

One of the things I most miss in cricket is Shoaib steaming in to bowl in an India v Pak match with the whole crowd building up his entire runup. :(

I actually think Shoaib is a bit under-rated by serious cricket analysts (although obviously over-rated by some fanbois). He didn't really have a sustainable bowling style (or personality) but when he was fit and on the field he was genuine quality, not just a speed gimmick.
Yeah, those two balls he bowled to get rid of Dravid and Tendulkar in the 99 Asia test championship were a sign of his legitimate brilliance. An enthralling, terrifying bowler.

Three balls in, no movement off the seam or off the wicket... pitch looks to have great bounce and carry too.

Let's see Latham apply himself and go back to back.

At their peaks I would probably put Imran>Waqar>Wasim. Overall careers Imran>Wasim>Waqar
I always thought Waqar required you to not be able to play his pace and swing, where as if you adjusted you could do OK against him - Wasim could get in you a variety of ways and was just an out and out master.

Which is why I say that over the course of their careers Wasim>Waqar but at his peak Waqar could rip through line ups just with his in swinging yorker. You knew what was coming but that didn't mean you could stop it always.

Purely as bowlers
Okay, you refer to Imran's 1982 year as his peak I assume? Big call, Waqar at his peak totally revolutionised bowling for me. At their peak I'd probably take Waqar/Imran/Wasim and overall bowling careers, Wasim/Imran & Waqar.

haha.. Trust me, I know - I saw him detonate our line up so many times against guys I was playing with at the time. Guys like Bryan Young flat out said they couldn't even see him when he released one of his quicker ones

I refer to his 1979 to his 1982-83 peak. Was just insane.

This right armer is running on the danger area every ball - and roughing it up for the spinners. Watch his right foot on the follow through. No way that isn't on purpose.

You and Howsie having the same av is going to be a bit confusing.
