Another great crowd turnout, it must be said.
I know the crowd looks bad on tv as only one stand is open, but being in the crowd it fealt bigger than alot of the ITM cup games I went to at eden park this year but probably about half to a third of the size, of the first day of the test match.

Also had to say that auckland cricket did a better job than auckland rugby of running a small crowd. There were plenty of give-a-ways and they had a brass duo in the corner playing music in the breaks. Created quite a good atmosphere.

Well that's NZC, providing the brass duo, duck mascot, etc.

Was it a quick pitch last night? Might have a look at Milne playing today's afternoon game.

Poor Shapoor Zadran. He got very emotional towards the end, when his men were about to lose a very low stakes warm-up game to ND. Good for him.

The duck is wierd, the pitch wasnt overly quick - or probably more accurately the bowlers wernt, it just had very good bounce.

Surprised that Milne bats below Small and Wheeler.

Whenever I've seen him bat he looks really competent. Eg his FC 90 odd last year seemed of a much higher quality than a Southee or Kuggelijn FC 100. And his few t20 innings have been good.

Mills bowling at the same pace as Colin de Grandhomme, and Mitch McC biffing down 120 kmh bouncers. Oof, these guys aren't going to enjoy their trip to the Emirates.
