You get the away team at the largest margin, four times during the season.

Jeremy Wells update: 53 points.

Yeah he's getting nothing out of this surface, but I like him. He should probably leave, like Somerville. Watching Josef Walker taking poles on the SACA stream, it wouldn't get any more CricketWeb than that.

SOLD OUT 13 November match! Thanks Canterbury for your incredible support! #GPSuperSmash
In-form Canterbury Kings kick off Hagley reign | Stuff.co.nz

Canterbury Cricket Association, through their sponsors, have given away 5000 tickets for today's match.

Crowds in the Super Smash have been lacklustre at best with today's expected to easily be the best of the competition.

Hamish Bennett is back bowling off his full run-up after an elbow injury curtailed the start of his season. He will play two T20 games for Canterbury A on Monday against Otago A at Rangiora.

Canterbury coach Gary Stead said with Matt Henry leaving to join the New Zealand A side after Sunday's match against Otago – also at Hagley – Bennett and the A bowlers were all playing for a spot.

They bowled Milne into the wind, I heard. His follow-though was about half its normal length.

Ryder finally getting a decent bowl and showing them all how it's done. Nannes continuing to be ****.

Unless McMillan is injured it seems a bit bizarre he was dropped for Wells when they retained Duffy and Nannes. It's probably time to give Bradley Scott a game too.

Nannes occupies one of the import slots and has not delivered on his potential.

But Mascarenhas said Otago was not considering replacing him.

''By his own admission, he has under-performed and he needs to get better. I think it is just a lack of bowling before he got here.

''He is getting into his work now and will hopefully be able to fire on Thursday for us.

''He has had a good net this week and is looking good.''

Mascarenhas said the decision to bowl Nannes and Duffy at the death was a set plan.

''They are our two best bowlers at the death but they have not been doing that at the moment.

''Jesse has been going well up front. The spinners have worked a treat in the middle. It is just the back end which has not quite clicked yet.

The Otago boys are clearly just missing Vaughn Johnson yelling at them whenever they miss the blockhole at training. Nothing like an angry ex-fast bowler swearing at you to make you hit the hole on demand. Dimi needs to fire up more.
