I would like Pujara tried but they don't seem inclined towards it. Still long way to go for wc. Lot can change between now and then. If Pujara has a great test series in Oz and some other players struggle, he may still make it.

Got a pretty big score in the Vijay Hazare today. Sadly I don't think he's in the selectors thoughts at all, didn't even play the A game.

On the one hand, I'm pleased that he is being preserved for Tests.

On the other hand, I think Kohli and Pujara as an interchangeable pair at 3/4 would be so ****ing good, especially for the 2015 WC. Send in Pujara in at 3 when batting first, and Kohli in at 3 when chasing. Would be amazing.

From the very start Jayawardene has been timing the ball so well. Been amazing to watch. Dilshan not so much.

Yeah Kulkarni doing his chances no good, not that he had too much of a chance right now for either team. He is also the right pace for Dikshan to tonk him at will.

Ashwin has started pitching ball a bit fuller than he used to making him far less potent.

Anyhoo, thoughts on Axar Patel?

Patel is a poor man's Jadeja.

Rayudu's crappy offbreaks eventually produce a wicket.

Impressed with Kohli as captain so far. Gives players decent opportunties. Got Kulkarni to open for instance. Talks with players. Makes smart changes in the field.seems to be enjoying the responsibility.

I actually think Patel's better than Jadeja. Beats the batsmen in the air on occasion which Jadeja has never done.

Patel maybe a better bowler than Jadeja but he is so raw right now. That is a huge disadvantage. For example Patel was very wayward with his line today. Couod prove costly in a more important game.

He probably changed his name as some astrologer said so. One of the uncoolest things to do.

I tell you what though, if he keeos picking wickets, he will be in that wc squad. I wouldn't mind him the xi ahead of Ashwin. His height means that he extracts bounce. Remember Shastri in 85?
